I'm sincerely hoping Lou's fax machine is jammed up and the trade calls will still timestamp as 3 pm.

Flames may have another small trade pending trade call.

Sounds like David Jones has been shipped to the Wild for a pick.

So, I guess there wasn't that much interest in Yakupov after all? Or did MacT break Chia's fax machine?

You know, I'd love to get rid of one of Wideman, Smid, or Engelland and bring back Kris Russell on July 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc.

This was a disappointing day as a Leaf fan but overall trade season was good for the team. Hopefully they can move JVR, Komarov and Bozak at the draft and then really get this re-build going.

I am relieved. The Jackets still have to make some more moves to get the RFAs under contract this summer, but I would rather know the draft situation before deciding on what the move is.

Still think Tyutin, Johnson, Calvert and Atkinson can move. But knowing where we draft and looking squarely at the needs will help Jarmo make better decisions.

Right now, he ran the risk of making a mistake with no point immediately.

I'm hoping Jokipakka gets paired with Nakladal just for the play-by-play calls alone.

Johnson and Tyutin are as moveable as Lupul. Never-say-never but it would take something like the Jackets including first rounders to get teams to take those two. With the cap likely remaining stagnant it's even less likely.

Because he's better than any of the three guys mentioned above. If he's willing to come back to Calgary on a 3x3 deal, I'd be more than okay with it. Chances are it won't happen and he might hit the jackpot with another team on July 1st, but if he's still available...

Drouin still isn't getting paid, right? I'd say he's a lot more F'ed than Yzerman is.
Yzerman's got a 3rd overall pick losing value by the day. They're both fucked; how much more fucked one is than the other is pretty irrelevant at this point. It's both terrible asset management and terrible career management.

It all comes down to draft position for the Jackets. First overall? No brainer. Top 4? Keep the pick and get a solid forward or D man then look to deal Calvert and Atkinson after moving Jenner back to C. Anything from 5 on? Trade it with Johnson or Tyutin and a tasty piece like Rychel or Atkinson and hope to get a top C.

Johnson and/or Tyutin straight up doesn't get it done. But Throw in Atkinson and that first, someone should bite. Especially if a team with a ton of hype falls flat.

Honestly, at this point I'd prefer a 5+ pick and trade. Except over Mathews, of course.

So how fucked are Yzerman and Drouin lol

Not as bad as this guy:

That'll be a pleasant conversation.
