HOLY CRAP!!!!

Over the 4th of July weekend Steph Curry held a 1 day b-ball camp for kids in Oahu, Hawaii. The price: $2,000 for day campers & $2,250 for those wanting to stay overnight.

That's an incredibly expensive 1 day camp.

Speights is apparently signing for a minimum deal with the Clippers.

So... either....

1) Warriors didn't want him back

2) He wants a bigger role and thinks he'll get it in LA

3) He didn't want to be back?

Kinda weird, if you ask me.

So before their roster w/o KD was:

Curry
Klay
Barnes
Green
Bogut

Iggy
Livingston
Barbosa
Ezeli
Speights
Rush
Clark
Varajeo
McAdoo
Thompson
Looney (injured)

As we speak this is their new roster:

Is it 4 day/3 night?

Still seems expensive, but basically you are paying for you're kid to have personal, up close time with Curry, which in general you can't buy.

I saw a video on facebook where he was going to the different dorm rooms messing with the kids, like pretending to be delivering pizzas, etc..

It's pretty cool stuff.

Curry will make less money than Timo Mozgov next year...he needs to make it up somehow....he signed that lowball 4 year deal right around the time his ankles were failing....

Probably just wants more playing time.

Speights in the last two years has had inconsistent playing time with the Warriors. Kerr honestly does the right thing in either pulling him from games where he's not producing right away or not playing him at all based on match-ups. I think the Clippers would be a good destination for him because they lack depth at the pF/C position and can step in right away. He'll have much more of an opportunity to play on a consistent basis, which will help his market value for him next year. It's the right move for Speights, imo.

The thing about the Warriors depth, was it helped immensely during the regular season. However in the playoffs, the bench for the Warriors totally disappeared. Speights was pretty much a non-factor for most of the games. Barbosa was hit or miss, but was actually really good in the finals (surprised Kerr didn't give him more run). Rush did well filling in for Barnes, but he was stuck on the bench behind all of our other wings. Ezeli was terrible, Andy V was terrible, McAdoo and Clark were too inexperienced to give any significant run.

The bench needed to be revamped with some quality depth. I think it's more important to have a quality 9 man rotation, than go 12 deep with more spread out talent for the playoffs.

Agreed, theyre 8 deep right now maybe 9. Mccaw looks like he could have a impact right away who knows. But i would like a ray allen, larry sanders to end the offseason somehow

That all makes sense... but have they really done that, to this point?

In terms of bench... they've lost Ezeli, Rush, Speights, Barbosa... and they've gained West.

Of course there are a couple more roster spots to go so this discussion is premature... but so far - to me - the bench has gotten worse... whether you're looking at a 9 man rotation or a 12 man rotation.

Kawhi Leonard? He is already ridiculous and 25.

I think Leonard may just be the second most valuable player in the league, but because the media and general public undervalue defensive contributions (or lack thereof) and the fact that Leonard has such an unassuming personality, he will never be the face of the league.

There will always be someone flashier and more willing to carry that mantle.
