In a way I wish Miami didnt lose their players. I thought you guys were close to competing with the Cavs. It would of been fun to watch Wade vs LBJ match up.

It happens. Bird rights fucked us. But we would've just challenged the Cavs, doubt we'd beat them. Then again who knows?

Yeah kinda weird how people have been equating KD to like a super 3 and D player. NO. He's Kevin freakin Durant.

2nd best player in the league, IMO, and a perfect fit with Golden State.

This would honestly be pretty awful for Cleveland too. Downgrading from Thompson to Kanter would completely wreck their defense, and exchanging love for Wade costs flexibility and floor spacing.

This would never happen. Why would the Heat sign Whiteside for the max -- then trade for TT. Whiteside would be stuck -- only getting backup minutes behind TT ?

Well if KD was mad at Wetsbrook for shooting crazy shots he just joined 2 players that throw up a lot of crazy shots(Curry and Thompson). They also shoot a lot on their team. Its a different game for KD now. He wont be the man and he will help them but he needs to learn how to be like Bosh(the good) or love(the bad). He wont be the man anymore.

Also, please explain to me how the Cavs get D-Wade while also signing Lebron to a max. You can go over the cap with your own players, not with free agents.

Typically teams sign the free agents first and then their own people to get through the loophole.

Lets say wade resigns and Bosh comes back. With Dragic, Wade, Winslow, Bosh and Whiteside. Who is out there that we can pick up to play to replace Deng and even Joe Johnson (who completely disappeared in the playoffs)

On a team with Curry, Thompson, Durant, and Green, Zaza is a decent. He's not a great center, but he's serviceable enough not to be a liability.

No one, we're not going to get better. We have Butler coming in, but he's not Deng at this juncture in his career.

Actually I was joking ... expecting to generate about 500 posts in the next few hours over who would start at C for the Heat if this was done. (as I walk out the door to the golf course ...)

Perimeter defense will be critical for the Cavs (and Spurs and any other team trying to compete with the Ws). There is no way they could give up TT and get Kanter. Kanter + Love would get killed trying to guard the Ws.

If you're going to blow it up by trading Westbrook, you'll want a rebuild. Trading Kanter makes sense, but it would make the most sense to just outright clear his cap space.

If OKC really wanted to move Westbrook, the best destination is Boston.

Trade RW and Kanter for Isaiah Thomas, Jaylen Brown, Avery Bradley, 3 1st Rd Picks and a couple 2nds.

Celtics turn into an immediate contender with RW, Horford, Kanter, Crowder and Smart.

OKC has Thomas and Bradley locked up for reasonable contracts, Have Brown and future draft picks. They just shed nearly 40M in cap space and can make runs at next years free agent crop.

That would be the best way to go, iimo.

That is way too much to give up for Boston.

Westbrook does not have the same trade value as an elite player normally would because of his expiring contract. Boston would have a good chance to resign him, but no need to gut the roster. They would risk throwing away their entire rebuild.

I say Jaylen Brown + next year's 1st + Isaiah for Russ and Kanter.

It is a buyer's market and Kanter is a redundant piece. I don't see them getting a better offer anywhere else.

ZaZa is a lot better than Joel Anthony -- nice recovery after losing Bogut.

It will be interesting to see where Andy V goes in the off-season. Both Ws & Cavs could use him. (would be interesting to see him go back to the Cavs and get his ring from last year during first home game of the season) Andy V did criticize the Cavs ball movement after he went to the Ws. (to Bogut)

I like Crabbe a lot. Whoever gets him will be landing a quality player. I am still assuming Smith goes to Cleveland, right?
