Not fond of the money or length of the deal, but the player is a good fit for what they were looking for.
Are you seriously comparing Biyombo to Jordan? Jordan is 6'11 and has started for the past 6 years.
Wade isnt leaving. I seriously doubt Riley has made him an afterthought, but Wade has to understand that Riley is trying to build a team to help Wade win another title. He is older now, Riley has to spend what he can to get younger talent around him. But the Heat always do right by Wade and will do right by him even after he retires. He just is using this as leverage right now.
D-Wade leaving?
I thought it was like 95-5 staying....but it seems like more 60-40 at this point.
They have basically made him a secondary afterthought the last 3 seasons of free agency.
They are just assuming they can always count on his loyalty.
Very dangerous with other teams having cap space finally.
Biyombo is 23 and he looked decent against the Heat and Cavs in the Finals. He has a chance to grow, with Mozgov, you already know what you're getting.

Wade has taken multiple pay cuts his entire career and the year the cap boom starts, asking him to take another cut wouldn't be a sign of good faith, IMO.
He has to at least consider alternative plans, just if anything to put the fear of god into the Heat to retain him.
Biyombo has been in the league 5 years, Mozgov 6. They both are what they are essentially.
O.J. Mayo can now be had for a ham sandwich......![]()

Biyombo's 23 years of age and not even in his prime. Mozgov is going to be 30.
I prefer Mahinmi to Biyombo. Less hype, better size.
I doubt the Heat are asking Wade to take a pay cut at this juncture. I think they're evaluating the roster and where they stand with Durant before anything. I honestly see a 3-4 year contract coming out of this.
