I like that they locked Clarkson up for 4 years/$50mil. First, there's no potential for a perceived slight by having to go out and sign an offer from another team. Second, the contract is structured normally instead of jumping up huge in the last two years. Third, if he's continues to improve, this contract could look very cost effective.

The Lakers still have roughly $34mil to spend this off-season. Could use some wing depth.

where is @HurricaneDij39 ??? nice signing in Jefferson.

Only team I have seen in the East to really solidly improve thus far- are the Knicks with Rose and Noah---- but especially the Pacers adding Jefferson, Thad Young and Jeff Teague. Pacers just might be hosting a first round playoff series next year.

That's certainly debatable. I'm curious as to how all of a sudden Mozgov was basically a garbage time player.
system, better players in front of him and injury. Really a lot of factors came into play with his statistical performance this year.

Agreed. Plus, they saved some $ in total value by not waiting. Good deal all around. If they do decide to trade him later, no issues with the contract structure.

I like what Indiana has done so far as well. Should definitely be better than last season.

"Now with Whiteside agreeing to stay in Miami, the Heat can head into their Sunday meeting with Kevin Durant a bit more confident. They have one of the best rim protectors in the league in Whiteside, warm weather, cap space, no state income tax, the possible return of Chris Bosh and despite stalled talks, will likely bring back Wade.Durant may have his mind made up already but the Heat definitely have a lot to offer".
It will be enticing for sure, I just wonder how much the whole not wanting to follow Lebron's path thing weighs on his mind. Though he did take the meeting so who knows.

47 games last year, only started 18 and isn't a rim protector. Lakers main targets this summer are rim protection and shooting.

Jefferson can score and rebound....if healthy. But, he's also older than Mozgov. In his prime, easy answer......Jeff. Right now? Mozgov......since Jeff might be broken.

I think next year is very possible IF:

1. Bosh situation is clear and resolved

2. Thunder exit earlier than expected

So was Jefferson. Still had a far more productive year.

Far more? Extend Mozgov's stats to Jefferson's minutes and shot attempts:

Jefferson: 12.0 ppg on .485 shooting, 6.4 rpg
Mozgov: 12.0 ppg on .565 shooting, 5.9 rpg

This. And a backup SG since Williams is a PG.

Agreed. Though i'm sure the Celtics and others are looking to beef up for next year too. That aside, I really hope Bosh can get squared away, i've always liked him.
