I just read a big revision to the upcoming CBA is that restricted free agents are given much more leverage. They're not going to be subject to the moratorium, which means they can sign deals with teams on July 1st, instead of waiting until July 7th. Also there's only a 48 hour match period instead of 72 hours. That's huge in the grand scheme of things. If they can sign before any other free agents do, it's increases their market value. It also forces teams to make a decision right away if they want to keep their player or not. This is good for the players.

Nets could have really used that rule change this Summer.

well- yah- if you go back a long time- when was the last time tOSU or Alabama were not good for more than a period of one year? Its been a LONG LONG time. Everyone has blips here and there--- Ohio State and Alabama have easily been the 2 best programs in college football over the last 15 years.

Bama was horrible in 2007. They hired Saban and he turned it around. They've been beyond elite for the last 8-9 years. Ohio St. got lucky going from Tressel to Meyer with that one year gap. That one year gap saw them get a 7-6 record. Football's all about coaching.

What I really love this time around is the Owners see the big picture here. It seems like almost all the concessions are being made on the Owners side with relation to adding 16th/17th roster spots for D-League players as well as increasing their pay. Also increasing the rookie scales to reflect the growing cap. They're also not allowing teams to pull qualifying offers any more, meaning that these players who have offers out there will have a guaranteed contract if teams retain their restricted rights. Also benefiting the players who are restricted free agents to not limit their market value by being able to be signed before unrestricted free agents.
