I agree with Hexys philosophy very excited.

This draft is enormous for us. 10 picks total and 5 in the first 3 rounds. We can move up or down and/or make trades. Lots of options here. Plus, we already have two extra picks the following year. We're about to be absolutely stacked with prospects.

In contrast, Pittsburgh only has 5 picks, 2 of them in the first 3 rounds. They mortgaged their future a bit to win that Cup, so I hope that fucks them...Lol

The Penguins deserve credit for winning the Cup this year. They've been buyers, but at least it paid off for them.

The Rangers on the other hand are in a tough spot. Their past few years from 2012-2016 remind me a bit of the Flyers 2008-2012. Fortunately for us we had Richards and Carter to sell and recoup assets for a retool. Looks like the Rangers will be doing their own mini version of that with Stepan. Will be interesting to see if they can stack their cupboard as quickly as we did.

If I understand correctly we are about to receive our 11th draft choice for this draft. Arizona just made a trade with San Jose to acquire a 4th round pick which looks like it will be transferred to us as a part of the Pronger trade. Had they not acquired a 4th round pick this year we would have received Arizona's 2017 3rd.

Kinda stinks. Wish they wouldn't have been able to get a 4th so it couldve stayed a 2017 3rd.

11 picks in one draft is nice though. IIRC that's one back of Carolina (and someone else i can't remember) for most in the draft

Wonder if we end up using every pick. Think it might be hard to jump up from 18 to the next tier, but using our 2nds to get back into the 1st round would be alright with me. Someone always falls

No, they did what they had to do to win another Cup, but I hope they've mortgaged their future and put themselves in cap hell in the process. It's not necessarily likely, but it's entirely possible.
