Meh, in my area we don't really have any of the above either, last time we had a direct hit from a hurricane was like the 1950s

I used to live on Anna Maria Island (about 45 minutes south of you). I was told that there is and old Seminole legend that says that area is protected by spirits.

I don't know about all of that, but I do know that when I lived there, there were at least 3 times where a hurricane was headed straight for the island and then made a left turn at the last minute.

There have been quite a few who have tried too. Some never get past the badmin and those few who do are caught pretty quickly.

Drought is all but over. Earthquakes are kind of fun. As far as landslides, if you're dumb enough to build your house on the edge of a cliff...

On some other sites, one that has more traffic than this, it's pretty common for Alt's to go unnoticed, it's also common for Mods in the sub-forums you post in to turn a blind-eye and back you up when you get into a ton of shit.

there are not too many places in the world that get lake effect snow

the moisture blows off of lake erie- and goes into the clouds, and then when the land pushes the clouds up - it falls like crazy----- from about --- the east side- gets shit on like you wouldnt believe

Lake-effect snow is produced during cooler atmospheric conditions when a cold air mass moves across long expanses of warmer lake water, warming the lower layer of air which picks up water vapor from the lake, rises up through the colder air above, freezes and is deposited on the leeward (downwind) shores.
