Only reason he might not be, would be to give some balance to the bench.
He's without question a better player then Dion IMO.

I just can't stand Waiters. He's not in the league 5 years from now. He has no room to grow. He is who he is.

Whiteside now league rebounding leader.
Still trails AD in blocks.
I'm still waiting for some factual reasons as why Drummond is a better player.
Drummond was slightly better last year(I admit, that's debatable) and this year is a 7 game sample size. He's 4 years younger and not in his prime years like Whiteside, so he projects to improve.

a "bit" deeper?

Russel and Ingram. Randle...

I mean- as far as young core's go- i wouldnt have the Heats anywhere close to top 5 in the NBA.

You don't watch the Heat, so I'll take any opinions offered with a grain of salt.

As far as top 5 or top 10 or whatever, IDK, but I do know that we have 4 VERY NICE young players to build around that blend well together and aren't repeat pieces.

How many other teams that you are thinking of will have around 70M to supplement FA in next summer as well as get a lotto pick and prob a high 2nd rounder?

Drummond has played in 180+ more NBA games then Whiteside.
I would beg to differ and say Whiteside is the one improving.
His game is SO MUCH better then it was at the start of last season.
Drummond is what he is (which is very good), but improving?
I don't see it.

Whiteside pissed away a few years of his life, but it took no toll on his body.
He's a physical/athletic freak.
I don't think he hits any type of wall at 30 if he stays healthy.

On paper, yet they continue to keep losing.

I guess they need to improve on defense, that is the main problem. Their depth isn't very good but they have 3 guys averaging 20 ppg or more and 3 guys shooting above 43% from 3 while averaging more than 3 attempts. Wiggins is playing great. It's gotta be defensively. All their losses seems to be close other than the OKC one.

yeah you DEFINITELY got me there. guess we'll see as the season goes along....

To be fair, I've watched very little Wolves this year.
I just see the scores.
Unlike someone here, I won't make bold comments that I'd have nothing to support them with.

I dont know that i'm willing to say that a 23 year old man wont improve as he enters his prime.

In terms of Whiteside, I like the dude. He's definitely gifted and fun to watch. Ive only seen a couple of Heat games this year so I can't speak too intelligently on his overall improvement. But his fg% is down from last year, as is his ft%. His blocks are down, his turnovers are up(probably a volume issue.) Hes rebounding the snot out of the ball, but he no longer has to compete with Bosh, or really anybody for boards at this point.

Again, I dont watch him night in and night out so his leaps and bounds in scoring and rebounding may be a result of his improvement, rather than being on a weaker team.

Im rooting for the dude. I think if he keeps his head on straight, which he appears to be doing, he's gonna be good for the NBA and fans of big men like myself.

you dont have a 2nd round pick as far as i can tell.

I mean-

Twolves- Towns, Wiggins, LaVine, Dunn, Deing

Lakers: Russell, Randle, Ingram, Nance Jr., Clarkson

Sixers: Saric, Embiid, Okafor, Noel, SIMMONS- a boatload of extra draft assets

Suns: Booker, Bledsoe, Chriss, Bender, Len, Warren

Celtics: Bradley, Smart, Crowder, Jaylen Brown, Rozier- a boatload of extra draft assets

Thunder: Westbrook, Oladipo, Adams, Kanter, Sabonis

Pelicans: Anthony Davis, Buddy Hield, Solomon Hill

Pistons: Drummond, KCP, Stanley Johnson, Tobias Harris, Henry Ellenson, Reggie JAckson

Wizards: Wall, Beale, Porter,

Magic: Vucevic, Payton, Hezonja, Gordon, Fournier + extra picks

Bucks: Giannis, Middleton, Parker,Thon Maker, Monroe, Delly

Heat: Winslow, Richardson, Whiteside, Johnson- (while missing 2 1st rounders going forward)

even the Trailblazers and the Nuggets have great arguments..

How can you not put the Heat at or near the bottom of the list?

I'm not implying the Heat 4 would win a pickup game over the other teams listed young players.

I'm talking chances of competing again any time soon.
Which of the teams that you listed would you say have that chance?
Which of those teams has any significant cap space next summer?

I'm not saying that none do, I don't know.
I only know that the Heat does.

As far as next years draft picks.

2017 Activity
First Round: Miami’s own pick

Second Round: Miami’s own pick to be sent to Memphis if it lands in top 40 per the terms of the Chris Andersen trade on 2/16/16, and to Atlanta if not per the terms of the trade for James Ennis on 6/27/13
