I didn't make a single excuse. They played bad, especially in the 4th quarter. It was a bad game. The Cavs had enough talent to get the job done and they didn't. End of story.

Having said all that... you guys here on look silly trying to turn it into a "look at the Cavs future with LeBron". I just think that is disingenuous when they're missing not just LeBron but 3 of their top 4 players.

Remove Lebron from the team, are they making the finals? Yes or no?

JR is not one of their top 4 players. I rank TT higher than JR

Pretty sure they would not lose to the Bulls by 17 at home especially on a 2nd night of a B2B for the Bulls.

I mean, they lost by 20 to the Lakers with all their starters, so I wouldn't rule it out completely

I like how the Cavs playing without 3 starters somehow becomes "cavs without LeBron".

Come on.:L
JR's been out forever.
Cavs - Love with James win on a nightly basis.

If James plays yesterday you don't think Cavs win?

Like we've discussed before in the hypothetical game, Cavs minus James aren't very good.
The counter is, 'they do have James so it doesn't matter'.

If the Heat somehow end up 8, and James was injured for the playoff series, the Heat would win IMO.

Their chances would obviously take a huge hit. But there's a big difference between not being a lock for the Finals... and losing by 17 to a bad team.

Of course, there is plenty of reason to question the future of the Cavs without LeBron. I just think its dumb to try to use a game without 60% of their starters as an example of that.

JR is not one of their top 4 players. I rank TT higher than JR

That's fine. Whether 4th or 5th, it doesn't change the conversation much.

Probably not if they were healthy. I still don't see anyone beating the Warriors in the playoffs though.

I didn't know that game was in Oracle.....learn something new everyday on SportsHoopla :L

LOL they had their full roster, too. You're really gonna tell me that homecourt advantage is worth more than 3 starters? :pound:

It was just a stupid meaningless example to show that you actually have no idea what would happen in such a game.

If the Cavs lose in the finals then this board will be hilarious all summer long.

Wait... you think the Cavs' chances improve with LeBron?? No fucking shit.

And my point is that using a game when the Cavs are missing 3 starters as part of a "Cavs without James aren't very good" discussion is incredibly stupid.

If Cavs lost James like Heat lost Bosh, meaning its just a total loss, they'd be a lotto team. I

If you think LeBron just won the Finals over a 73-win team with a lottery roster... you must have him as the hands-down GOAT.

Yea I wouldn't go that far. Without Lebron, I would say they're between a 4-6 seed with this team

Remember how I said this week will give us a good idea of the Pelicans team? Well that team ain't shit and I highly doubt they make the playoffs. Fully expect them to lose in OKC tonight which would push them to 0-3 with Cousins.

Why do they need him? I kinda don't get it. Thought they were happy with Livingston. Guess this means Weber time with the Warriors is over.

They needed more shooting, especially off the bench and they found there guy. Weber has already been cut. Calderon is bad defensively but he can shoot and move the ball well at least.
