Risk vs reward.
What if he goes for it and the Heat spank them?
Dunno. Maybe Lebron takes the night off.

Sounds like Lebron's thinking about taking off tomorrow.
And the Hawks have the best announcers. So much homerism.
He already knows what he's doing.
Just more drama.
No line posted yet for the game.

Holy shit the cavs suck.

Lakers better lose their pick now, don't expect it to happen though because the NBA wants them to be good so having LAL survive the "random" lottery keeping the pick is best for them.
After the Cavs got 1st 3 in 4 years which definitely helped their chances of luring LeBron back, the Clippers getting 1st(when the Kings had the worst record) to get the superstar dunker Blake Griffin, and the NO pick you already mentioned, it's hard to 100% believe it's fair. And that's not just frustration because of the Kings being lottery bound for the last decade yet always stuck at their spot or pushed back.Unfortunately the way they do the lottery now, its essentially impossible to rig. Even with some of the curious results (NO winning after it got bought), it's on the level.
It'd be nice if there was some rigging though that Magic could pull off because LA is shooting itself in the foot with this tanking effort. They've been tanking since January, throwing out weird lineups, sitting/trading good players, yet to close out the season, Luke has now decided he's fine closing games with his good players and getting some Ws. WTF? That's not how you tank. It's even more frustrating that Brooklyn is miraculously winning games to where Best Odds could have been up for grabs and Phoenix is winning a few also. SMH. So much for having a margin of error. LA chance's will be 100% luck on lotto night

As far as draft position goes, the Kings have also kinda screwed themselves over recently winning 4 of 6 before losing twice this weekend. After trading away Cousins, the Kings need to keep both picks and make good decisions with them. Ending up 6th as compared to 8th or even 9th can be big.
I remember them doing that years ago, from the video it really looks hard to rig. I hope it's just strange luck that has helped or hurt certain teams, the Kings' bad luck in the lottery isn't a surprise. This would be the year for that luck to change and them end up top 3 or even 1st with the fact that Philly owns the right to swap picks. It is hard to believe, especially with some of those results you mentioned, but I watched the process they used on youtube a couple of years back (ESPN posted I think) and I just don't see how it could be fixed. Sealed room, everyone has lottery cards with number combinations, balls are brought in and selected with everyone watching, and its all done by some super respected lawfirm (or some other outside group, can't remember).
EDIT: Here's a behind the scenes look at it
