No the Cavs won. Which is a good thing because whenever the Lakers win right now Magic fines each player 25,000 buck-a-roos.

For three quarters, the second "worst" team in the NBA were outplaying the current champs. The cavs definitely weren't winners.

Kyrie 15/21 from the field, 10/10 from the free throw line, 6/10 from 3. now that is what you call a hot shooting night- though Russell was ALMOST as hot as he was.

That was a fun game and the D'Angelo/Kyrie duel was a blast. Hopefully, Russell will continue to improve and we can have some more of those with both teams relevant.

Difference in the game, imo was the Cavs experience down the stretch. Starting with about 5 minutes left, whether it was spreading the floor for a Lebron iso and drive to the Hoop, or Kyrie or Love setting up for a 3, the Cavs knew exactly who was getting the ball, when they were getting it and what they were going to do with it when they got it.

When the Lakers had the ball, a guy would try to go iso, but the others didn't spread the floor like the Cavs did for Lebron. Even when they had ball movement, there wasn't a lot of purpose to it like there was with the Cavs. So they ended up with contested shots against the clock.

Basically, one team trying to figure out what the other team already knows.

The Lakers showed that they are still young and learning how to play, the Cavs showed why they are where the Lakers trying to get to. Hopefully, the young guys learned a couple of things.

The fact that the Cavs were down 11 in the 4th last night to that team is pretty embarrassing

Giving up 120 points to them, doesn't say much about their defense either.

How'd he do defensively against Russell?

i have said in here in multiple posts i think Russell played one of the best games of his career- it was good to see him perform when he was put back in the starting lineup becuase Nick Youngs tummy was hurting him. lol.

In alll seriousness - Russell was shooting great- esp- from 3.......hardest thing for a young team to do is learn how to close out---- esp. against a championship team like the Cavs who have established closers like Irving and LeBron.

I thought Ingram played a nice game too---- i watched him try and guard lebron a couple times though and that was just unfair. lol.....he needs to bulk up before he tries to match up with The King.

its a shame Russells great game had to comein a loss- but its hard to put the defending champs away- even if you are up double digist on your home floor in the 4th.......Kyrie is one of the games premier closers for a reason.

speaking of Kyrie- and how you used to think hed be better at SG---what about Russell? sure seems like SG might be the better fit for him- esp. if htel akers keep their picka nd one of those elite PGs is avaliabl.e

I don't think wiggy realises the very definition of 'tanking' was seen in the 4th quarter of last nights game.

from the look of it i think they tried to win, and no denying the Cavs have the better team...

but try to tell me this team DOESN'T have defensive issues. sorry, but the Cavs didn't impress a soul with last night's effort...well, no one's but WiggityWack's apparently...

The Warriors organization cracks me up. WTF would the Thunder do that? I don't remember the Heat bitching about the Cavs organization with the way LBJ was treated in his first game back in Cleveland. This is hilarious.

The Golden State Warriors organization was furious and bewildered about the inactivity from Oklahoma City Thunder leadership leading up to that first Durant return contest on Feb. 11, league sources told ESPN.

Sources say the Warriors were of the mindset that someone from ownership or management should have addressed the media on Durant's behalf to help ease the tension upon his return.

The feeling is that Durant should have been acknowledged or thanked, in a news conference setting, for his nine years of excellent service.

The Warriors are being whiners about this. Why should OKC honor a guy that left them in the lurch. Maybe sometime in the future but the wound is still too fresh right now.

and Durantj ust had to deal with some cupcake chants....lol...he got off easy if LeBrons return home is any comparison.....i couldnt imagine if the OKC return shook him- what he would have done if he had to dealw ith what LeBron got....he wouldve been in the corner of the visitors locker room sucking his thumb in rocking back and forth. lol.

the last things young teams usually learn how to do is close......when you are going up against 2 of the NBAs premier closers---- even with a double digit lead in your home court in the 4th--- no lead is safe.

i saw ingram trying to guard lebron down the stretch....that wasnt gonna work well- ingram has to be giving like 60 lbs. there.

Both Kyrie and Russ would be better at SG.

Irving is averaging 5.8apg and his career high is 6.1apg. He's a scorer.....

I said earlier that TT's streak was an aberration. We've seen Lue start TT at the beginning of a game for a minute then bench him so he could keep the streak intact.

It's a bullshit statistic.

Meh, I don't have a problem with it. If memory serves AC Green held (maybe he still does) the record for consecutive games played. I recall a few starts with a quick hook to keep the streak alive. As long as they aren't making a habit of it, or throwing him out there when he's legitimately hurt just to keep it alive, then it isn't an issue, imo.

I remember a few like that for Cal Ripken Jr. in MLB too.

i dunno....shooting 72% and scoring 46 points on 21 shots i thought was at least fairly impressive. lol.

id be willing to bet there havent been to many games this year where a guy got at least 46 points on such a limited number of shots. Thats why Kyrie will be chosen as one of the 6 best guards in the league this year and make an ALL NBA team. --- games like last night.

I gotta say- Russell played a very good game too- its good to see the Lakers can show some life once in a while even if they are mired in a streak of losing 12 of their last 13.

only by the grace of Kyrie's unbelievable game and his ability to not be stopped did the Cavs escape the upset---- Lakers with only 5 turnovers the entire game is a great number for a young team. Good to see that the Cavs can double the turnovers of the other team, shoot a lower % from 3, and still win- no matter who its against- usually those are the type of games they blow- when the other team outshoots them from 3 and commits half the turnovers.

All of these werdz and still nothing about the Cavs defense.

was interesting to see Russell do so much damage from the SG position--- if the Lakers are in position to draft a PG- it makes it more palatable to move him to the SG spot. Maybe his better position would be shooting guard in the long term.

It was actually a change brought about by Russell and Clarkson. They were having trouble getting in sync playing together and talked to Luke about switching roles.

There have been a few who have suggested that Russell may be better suited to play the 2 in the NBA. The coaches have been on him to be more aggressive, but he struggles with being aggressive while trying to also set up his teammates.

If the Lakers keep their pick, I could easily see them taking a point guard (especially since the top 3 players happen to be point guards) and sliding Russell over to the 2 spot.
