I think it's time for my posting victory lap, the front office did exactly what I said they would do ever since the confetti stopped dropping.

What some of you should know though is that's just fine, they are among the top 6 or 7 teams in the NL and if need be will make mid season additions. If they fall short, they will make bigger splashes in 2016.

3 in 5 baby! Let's get 2-3 more!

Having read all the articles on this trade, I'm confused. Nowhere did I read:

1. That the Giants didn't try to get Zobrist; or
2. That Zobrist didn't want to play here.

Essentially, the A'ss gave up the equivalent of Beede and Susac for Zobrist and Escobar. A few problems with the Giants making that trade, from my perspective:

a. It's waaaaaay too much to give up for one year of Zobrist and a reserve MI
b. Beede projects as a top of the rotation starter in 2 years or less;
c. Susac projects as a starting ML catcher;
d. We already have Kobe and Duffman, in addition the the ghost of Scoots and Adrianza. No room at the inn for Escobar.

All in all, I think Beane got fleeced again.

This smells like more of a salary dump by TB than a "re-tooling" (although they did need a catcher).

Giants did jack this off season to improve. They must be happy with what they got.

The fans still fill the stadium regardless so why would they? They'll live off this last run of success for as long as they can milk it.

From the WSC3 team, we lost a declining and risky Panda, and Morse, a solid hitter, but his glove hurt us as much as hit bat helped.

We get Cain and Pagan back, and a full season of Belt. McGehee will be an adequate replacement for Panda statistically, esp if they platoon him with Arias. Crawford has improved every year, and Panik will be a huge improvement over the first half shitshow we had at 2B.

We may not be done yet (Shields (unlikely), Rasmus (risky), Moncada (no help this year)), but even if we do nothing, we will be a better team than last year.

Could we have put a hammer lock on improving? Sure, but we got outbid by "greater fools".

Yeah, but he makes the team look better now for the San Antonio investors.

Approximately what would the Giants have had to give up to equal what the A's gave up for Zoby.

Irrelevant since it won't happen as a Giant...unless you are talking about trade value I suppose.

A tiresomely ignorant statement for multiple reasons:

1) Catchers get hurt all the time
2) Catchers can't play every day - it's too tiring
3) Pitchers develop favorite catchers, and non-favorite catchers
4) We are already playing Buster at 1B some
5) Buster has statistically shown he hits better when he doesn't play catcher

Nolan's supposed to be banned from here, and that's who this is. I thought he was already banned because he took a long break. But whatever.

I know, right? The way they milk us fans by winning championship after championship. And those idiots just keep filling the stadium!

Why wouldn't they be happy with what they got, they just won yet another ring! You're not happy? I guess it's possible, you were pretty angry midseason calling for a tear down.

PS: They did the same thing in 2011 and 2013

PPS: Sabean is way better at this than all of us, except MontNolan who is clearly the smartest baseball mind of all.

We are literally enjoying the best run in the HISTORY of the SF Giants...and some fans are still grumpy.

Wait. How is our team better than last year?

If Sandoval is a "risk", McGehee is an ocean of risk.

He easily could be a .230 hitter this year, 5 HR's and bleh defense.

We have a hole in the lineup at LF and when Pagan gets hurt (because he will miss 40+ games). We'll have a hole in LF and a offensive hole in CF.

Cain should be better, that's a boost. But Hudson might decline and we downgraded our 5th SP from Vogelsong to Lincecum.

We can say Belt will stay healthy and have a great season, but it's also likely Panik takes a step back.

I'm perfectly fine with this offseason. Kept farm system in tact, no long-term money spent. 3 WS is amazing. But IDK how this team is better than last year's

If I'm wrong and they play like a better team than last year/have a better record (won't factor in playoff outcome).

I will eat multiple servings of crow

No one can know if we're better, and we for sure don't know what the season will play out like, because of injuries. But you can say we are reasonably similar to last year, and that we are among the 6-7 better teams in the NL, which makes us competitive for a WC slot.
