Giants ain't in it, but there is still some exciting baseball.

Toronto is down 0-2 to Texas (damn)

KC came back today in exciting fashion to tie the series 1-1

STL shut down the Cubbies.

This Mets-Dodgers series is shaping up to be a tzill orgasm, just hopefully he's not blue-balled by LA.

Wow, Mattingly takes out Kershaw with the bases loaded in the 7th, 2-out. I would trust one of the best pitchers on the planet rather than the Kennel.

And right on cue, David Wright drives in 2. 3-0 Mets. Wow

Gotta think Bruce Bochy leaves Bumgarner in there in the exact situation, despite the pitch count. Also, I think if Boch ever started to come out to the mound, Bum would scare him back.

Yep. Mattingly is almost as dumb as Yost. Bochy's the best pen manager around.

On the radio Marty Lurie said the Mets remind him of the 2010 Giants....very deep starting pitching, just enough offense, a bit of a surprise (we thought 2011 was our year...)

Greinke has a small edge tomorrow, but then Harvey in game 3 is a clear Mets advantage.

Donnie was wrong to bring in Baez. But he wasn't wrong to take out 'shaw. Dude was spent. He walked the bases loaded.

Donnie should have brought in Janson. Saving him for the ninth in that situation is pure stupidity.

No question the Mets are the Giants' little brother. The similarities are uncanny.

I mentioned that back in August, completely agree. The Pen isn't quite as good as 2010 Giants, but their SP emulates what the Giants had, young and dominant.

Am getting almost as worked up in this game as I was in '10, '12 and '14. GAWD I am a big Mets fan right now...

(OK, OK. Not at all like '10, '12 or '14. But I am getting worked up.)

Mets re-proving what the Giants showed us, it's all about pitching. The Jays too...all that offense, and down 2-0 because in the playoffs, all the pitchers are good.

Game 3 is the key. Obviously a must win, but if they do then it's Price again (he can't ALWAYS suck can he?) and then Stroman who looked great today

Mets and Dodgers lucky that the 3 best teams knock each other out for them.

But both the team's you just mentioned went down with a couple of the best the game has to offer in Price and Kershaw.

While I agree with the premise of your post, I think it goes deeper than that. Nerves and clubhouse has a lot to do with it. Managing, too, I think is SUPER under-rated.

Donnie fucked up something big by bringing in Baez. How he doesn't see that that is the most important situation that will exist in this game is beyond me.

I'm sure he'll give the same answer as Williams and Matheny. "He's our 9th inning guy."

The dumdums never learn (Yost too)....the playoffs are an entirely different thing. 'Closing' doesn't matter as much as leverage.
