The Mets playoff run so far is so 2010 Giants-esq, except for the fact that the 9th innings haven't been 1-run, guys on base situations (plus the fact that they will sweep the NLCS). For the most part, the Mets are dominating the score.

Every word of this is correct

Not feeling like looking it up, has Bartolo Colon ever been on a WS champion?

No.

He is 2-4 with a 3.75 ERA in 13 postseason games, but never in the WS, much less winning one.

I kinda like him, I'm rooting Mets (I was anyway)

Also does that stat line include the Cubs series just ended?

Personally, I'd like to see the Royals win it all. They were avid, determined fighters last year and then there was the changing of the stadium's spotlight colors from blue to orange immediately when game 7 ended - that screams 'class act'.

It is amazing how quickly a team's momentum can be stopped in its tracks in the playoffs. The Cubs were looking good until they met the Mets in the NLCS, then they got swept. Now, the Mets, who looked good up to now are sitting two games from being swept by the Royals, who had to go 6 games against the Blue Jays in the ALCS. Its almost like the Royals are this year's version of the Giants. If you remember from last year, the Giants were doing pretty well up to the World Series but the Royals were absolutely on fire! However, the Royals weren't looking like doormats in the first two games of last year's World Series.

It's also a testament to the Giants that they were always able to keep the ball rolling.

This year, the Royals just made every other team look silly though. They were clearly the best team in this tournament.

It is amazing to think how they were able to do what they did and three times in the past six years too!

The Royals were just crowned champions last night and Vegas is already giving the Dodgers the best odds to win it all in 2016 - Vegas odds favor Dodgers to win '16 World Series

If the Giants do not make it to the WS in 2016 (just a little slight reverse psychology going on here. However, you didn't just read that, your powers of understanding just read that into my statement), here's my top 5 WS matchups in 2016:

Cubs-Indians
Cubs-Rangers
Cubs-Astros
Nationals-Indians
Padres-Indians

I feel for the the fans of these teams. We've been there, waiting 56 years between titles. Honestly, I'm getting tired of the Cubs' futility story lines. I'd like to see what they come up with when the team finally wins it all.

All that being said, my very favorite matchup would be Giants vs. anyone.

I fear a second coming of the Chicago Fire if the Cubs were to ever win the Series...

Once the shock wears off. The fans may go catatonic once the team pulls it off. Who knows, the fan base may identify so much as lovable losers that they may lament winning it all after it happens.
