just my two cents, but i think jones is out and boyd gets the 3, unless gardner somehow impresses so much they use him as a ST/WR, and emergency qb

Its time to start up my "Position Preview" portion of my Offseason Thread. Like last year I will be going through every position to give updates & outlooks. Its my "Training Camp Preparation" of sorts for those that haven't been paying close attention to the offseason.
Here is my progression list:
QB
RB
WR
TE
OT
G
C
DE
NT
ILB
OLB
CB
S
ST
Feel free to chime in with any thoughts, ideas, & concerns! I had some great input from @ATL96Steeler & @Ewa PGH Fan during this portion of last year's offseason thread. Always hopeful for more participation! Lookin at you @MISKO , @Psych-Ward , @Cali Steel , @SteelersPride , @Steelerin MS , etc etc!
I'm thinking it will be exactly that... Boyd will do enough to push Landry out the door, but I think Gardner ultimately wins. There no reason to fill the 3rd QB spot anymore with how well the O-line is playing. It will always be a gameday inactive anyways until something bad happens. Why not use that roster spot to fill with a dual-threat type and like you said "emergency qb".
absolutely, i think alot hinges on marty B. if he steps up and lets wheaton go more natural in the slot, wow watch outYour preview is pretty much the way I see it Face...I'm not sure who gets the #3 spot, but I have a feeling they might go with Boyd or Gardner as well.
Ben...I'm a little anxious to see how they come out early, but I trust that Williams will be an effective backup for Bell...if the OL has the good fortune of keeping the starting 5 intact again for most of the snaps, I think Ben could have an MVP type season.
Until the pads come on, nobody knows what you really have... Just a few more weeks!ehhh no pressure there at all
Its only a day earlier than last year?im not super happy about the early training camp

Agreed! Not to mention they can inject Archer in the 4-wide... That'll really give D-coordinators the fits!Bryant...the sky is the ceiling for this kid...really just depends on how hard he works on his route running and the small things, hand position, etc...DCs know who he is now...he will start drawing the FS over the top...Wheaton should get a lot of balls his way in the slot.
Also...Coates has a lot of upside potential...imo he becomes that 4th guy in 4 wide, just a matter of when...should be a mismatch out there somewhere...that's why I circle back to the OL.
