I have to say the kids' "reflecting pool" ice rink this year looks pretty awesome.

I heard that the players are skating out on that to get to the rink, which is pretty fancy.

Random thought: I don't know if it was feasible, but man I feel like the Nats ballpark missed out by not getting the capital dome into its sight line somehow. I know it gets ranked pretty high on "best ballpark" lists, but if they had that view from the seats, it'd shoot up the list.

Random thought: I don't know if it was feasible, but man I feel like the Nats ballpark missed out by not getting the capital dome into its sight line somehow. I know it gets ranked pretty high on "best ballpark" lists, but if they had that view from the seats, it'd shoot up the list.

You do see the Capitol dome from just about anywhere behind the plate and on the first base side. It's down the left field line basically. But while some cities like Camden Yards have the skyline just a few blocks away, the Capitol is a decent distance from the stadium, so it's very visible, but not huge like you might see in the baseball stadium's in Pittsburgh or Baltimore.
