I want to screen shot that picture of Sogard and Vogt about to cry on the bench. Seeing Oakland lose in such dramatic fashion almost makes me forget about the Rangers' miserable season. Almost.

Not the same team post ASB, glad to see them screw up the chemistry and lose the WC game, too bad they didn't lose a couple more down the stretch and miss the postseason completely

Moss had a heck of a game, but that one isn't on Yost. I'm sure he didn't tell Ventura to groove one even at 99 and in the middle of the plate. Shields could have had a better outcome but who knows. Glad the A's were bounced.

Yost made an idiotic move and should be ripped. Ventura was not the guy to bring in after throwing 74 pitches or so the last game of the season. Team won in spite of Yost. Sound familiar? Plus high heat does not mean unhittable. Does that sound familiar also?

With you on this all the way. Not sure KC has the front line pitching to handle LA. The team I would really love to see win it all would be Pittsburgh.

I don't like the Pirates chances...Edinson Volquez has a very good ERA for the NL, but his peripherals are shaky. Bumgarner is a legit number 1. I think the Giants have a very real advantage there.

Great to read up on all 14 pages of this thread. Hell of a game. Followed the game on my phone til the 9th and was finally able to watch the rest of the game. What a classic. From what I saw, there was a little bit of Wash in Yost's managing last night. I'm pulling for the Royals or Orioles in the AL.

Oh and fuck the Oakland A's and especially a big fuck you to Josh Donaldson.

I've never been but I've always loved Kauffman stadium. It's definitely on the top section of my list of ballparks to attend a game in.

That one IS absolutely on Yost. It was a horrible call to bring in a kid into that situation, especially one who is used to being a starter. Yost had Herrera, Davis, and Holland all available. You just don't bring in a rookie starter into that situation in a playoff game. It's why Yost is being ripped to shreds all over the country this morning and why some are calling it one of the worst managerial calls in quite some time. Rarely do you see this level of criticism directed at one managerial move, and it's entirely warranted. Shields was only at 88 pitches and was still pitching just fine. He didn't need to be removed. Period. And even if Yost felt it absolutely necessary to make a move, he had 3 very capable veterans at his disposal. And even IF he wanted to turn to a flame-throwing rookie to face Moss, he could have at least gone with the lefty Finnegan. Inserting Ventura there went against all baseball logic and sure enough it almost cost them the game.

Took a bad fall down a rock embankment and was not able to finish. Ok now but can't get around for a while. Learning of the Royal's win has relieved a lot of pain. Glad you guys witnessed it and trudge on to LAA. Be back up to par in a day or two. Hunting arrowheads is no hobby for geezers.
