coincidentally, in music 'Coda' means you are pretty close to done.

OTT did not sign Jarrod Maidens or Francois Brassard. They re-enter the draft.

Fabbri dropped a lot. Maybe the Jackets can put something together with the Kings pick they got for Gaborik and move up a bit and get him too.

Off to read up on Nick Ritchie. A plus player and a left wing. Hmmmm

Fabbri actually moved up 10 spots. Remember this is just Button's personal list. It only takes one team, and I doubt that many/all of them have Fabbri down at 28 like Button does (or Virtanen at 43).

Josh Ho-Sang won't fall to 39 either.

When I look at Ritchie I keep seeing this guy and getting scared.

That's not entirely fair, he's a better prospect than Biggs was. But those guys that develop physically early and dominate smaller kids with it scare the shit out of me, since they often have the potential to be big mistakes.

Remember, this is the same Craig Button who traded Marc Savard for Ruslan Zainullin (who?) and let Martin St. Louis walk away for nothing.

And the same Craig Button who two years ago said the Kings problem was defense, not offense

If the price isn't too high, I would love to snag #1 overall pick and pick Ekblad. I just don't know if the Flames have enough to entice Dale Tallon to part with that pick.

Would Sven Baertschi and the 4th be enough?

I don't think so, I think it might take a couple of roster players plus the 4th pick to get #1. I think one of those roster players would likely be either Backlund or Brodie and I want to keep both of those guys.

/Of course, there should still be a pretty good player left at #4, nothing wrong with staying put.

You know in your heart that Burke is going to overdraft Nick Ritchie there.

:gaah:

/Maybe the Oil will take Draisaitl and leave the Flames with Sam 'No Pull-ups" Bennett?

Bennett still has a few weeks to grow 3 inches and gain 40 pounds I suppose

I believe this for two reasons - one the Panthers really do like him and because of that, either they take him and feel really good about him or they up the price for a team like Edmonton - smart on the Panthers side of things, win-win for them

I have a feeling the Panthers are going to keep the #1 pick and select Ekblad as well, I have a feeling that they'll be asking for the moon to give up the first overall pick and the packages teams are willing to send them won't be enough.

I think they know Edmonton would be interested and maybe they can bait them into moving a guy like Eberle

They will certainly try, but MacT and Klown love Eberle, RNH, and Taylor Hall. They might move Yak, but he won't be enough to switch draft picks with Florida.

I keep hearing Yak and I wonder why teams would be interested - yes he's skilled but he's such a whack-o and to me that kind of insecurity would be something I don't want on a team that is needed to make a run into the playoffs

If Dan Bylsma does go to Florida before the draft, I wonder if he lobbies to make a move for Jordan Staal in Carolina - Carolina has the 7th pick and the Panthers like William Nylander and Nikolaj Ehlers, maybe they trade the 1st pick for Jordan Staal and the 7th - although, the Panthers are already stacked at center, but I'm sure Dan Bylsma loves Jordan Staal

EDIT: I think trading with teams like the Islanders, Carolina and Toronto would be better than trading with Edmonton - I would ask for Kyle Okposo if I were the Panthers, but I doubt the Isles would do that - obviously the Carolina deal you could consider and no doubt I would ask for Kadri and Gardiner if I were making a deal with the Leafs
