I wonder what criteria they used to compile the list. Surprised to see the Coyotes arena do high up on the list. And fir the Sharks arena it just talked about the successes the team has had on the ice in their brief (Nintendo) history.

If you click on each stadium name they give an in depth review.

The fact that 5 arenas came in worse than the Nassau Coliseum invalidates the study

That.

I've been to two of the ones they say are worse than Nassau (Honda - Then Arrowhead Pond and Canadian Tire - the Scotiabank). I thought they were both awesome.

And honestly, they are built to a formula nowadays. Except Nassau and MSG you probably can't immediately tell which one is which from inside. How can any one be considerably better than another?

That's probably a good idea.

"Sorry Aiden. You need to go to the back of the line for cake. ORM has spoken."

I'm surprised Washington is that high, and I don't think MSG should be that high either - it doesn't seem that loud in the building most of the time

I thought "maybe it's based a lot on environment" but then saw Jobing.com on there. Then I did some reading...Honda Center is low based on environment...but Jobing.com is in the top 10? What in the world?

They gave the Sabres a 3.8 out of 5 stars for "Crowd Score", but it clearly shows 4 out of 5 stars.

Then they give them 5 out of 5 stars for both "Atmosphere" & "Fans".

I'm moving them up into the Top 5 now.

Atmosphere at Jobing.com got 5/5. What in the world? Gave their neighborhood 5/5 too.

Comment on Consol's ranking:

"this is not a raucous Nassau Coliseum crowd,"

There are plenty of better environments in hockey, so I'm not sure why that one was chosen.

Jobing.com is a great arena, and the complex really is well done. There's a ton to do around the arena, so you can make a day trip of it. I really enjoyed the game I went to see there.

Acoustics are pretty good, so maybe that helped environment?

I think what you said is spot on as far as why they're up there - the experience is pretty good and the fans are pretty nice

Not to sound like a dick, but if you live in Tucson how often do you get to see NHL games? Are you sure it wasn't maybe just a little bit like Eddie Murphy's crackers?

Bridgstone Arena is kinda funny looking. Here are a few pics before the Preds-Ducks game.
