It is a very high statistical probability that we end up in the 6 spot. That 4th quarter vs Utah will go down as one of the most detrimental quarters in history for our team.

The best we can hope for now is Marcus Smart.

I think we'll be just fine. There will still be chance to trade the pick after the lottery I believe if it gets that bad.

And as far as I'm aware, not a lot of teams are interested in Exum.

Additionally, Exum may be able to "force" a draft day trade if he wants to be a Laker that badly or, as someone else suggested, maybe other teams stay away from him given his statements re: wanting to play for the Lakers.

On second thought, you may be right. I guess the best we can hope for is still Exum. Whether it be by threat of sitting out so they stay away, or a forced trade where we give a piece and move up a few spots to get him. Lord I hope so.

We all also really need to hope that Parker declares. We need as many valuable pieces in the first few picks as there can be.

In my opinion Wiggins, Parker and Embiid are going to be picks 1, 2 and 3

Picks 4, 5, 6 and 7 will most likely go to Julius Randle, Exum, Smart and Aaron Gordon.

Any of those players will be a great asset to the team. The only player out of that bunch I am least excited about is Smart - but from what I heard is Milwaukee, Utah and Orlando are looking for a PG

TJF12 has got this one pretty spot on (as usual). Exum will be around 4-7 because of his statements about sitting out a year just to play for the Lakers which has presented a red flag for other clubs. If he falls to us, he'll be selected by the Lakers. If not, Mitch, having been trained by the logo himself, will work a deal with a team who may select Exum ahead of us but will instruct us who to select and then swap the slections after the fact and possibly an additional player. I think we'll be just fine.

If memory serves, that's pretty much how the Lakers got Kobe. Regardless of what pick the Lakers end up with, I'm not terribly worried about it. The Lakers have historically done a pretty good job with landing quality players in the draft, even with late 1st round or 2nd round picks. Even Kobe was the 17th pick and I believe D-Fish was a 2nd rounder from the same draft.

Kobe was picked 13th and Fish was picked 24th. I could of sworn Fish was 2nd rounder too.

Yes TJF12 and Lakersrule. Both guys were selected later than the traditional top five and Vlade Divac was involved in the Kobe trade. So we don't need to fet too much about our lottery position going into the draft.

That's right. Thanks for the reminder. Either way, I'd say they have both performed better than their draft status would tend to indicate.

Vlade was one of the better centers in the league at the time. Jerry knew he was going to sign an even better one though!

If it comes down to Smart or Gordon at 6th, I think I'd go with Gordon. I think Farmar is a solid PG and could be the starter on a contending team. He's just coming into his prime now, can shoot the rock, handle the ball, get to the rim. I think he has great value for what level of salary he will get. Now, I'm saying this without having watched much college ball. Smart is not a very good shooter from what I've seen.

Nothing wrong with Farmar as the starter and Marshall backing him up. I'd take that combo at PG anytime.

Not a fan of Marshall's, but I can see him being a cheap b/u PG for one more season.

I like him okay, just not as the starter. He's an excellent passer, but needs to work on his shot and his defense.
