In the last 10 years -- there have been exactly 5 TE's drafted in the top 20 picks in the NFL draft. Detroit now is the proud owner of 2 of those 5 picks.

Agreed. If he starts learning tackle slowly he could still be a back-up TE until then.

Honestly, since speed isn't a part of his game, and he's already 280 lbs, I don't see why he couldn't add 15 lbs and be a swing tackle/sub-package in-line TE or H-back (basically a big, mobile blocker). Seems like a good way to get some added value out of a back-up roster spot.

I think tonight might be what brings me back from the brink. For five months I've fucking hated this franchise like Jay Cutler hates caring. But Im actually not pissed to be a Lions fan. This is cool. And Im not even high.

You act like a good Safety has no value.. I would argue that someone like Earl Thomas is the true facilitator on the Legion of boom and not Sherman.. Granted, I don't think there is a Thomas in this draft, but a good safety goes a long way to helping a defense.. I still want Dennard first though..
