Here's the Heisman Watch List on ESPN website right now.

1. Todd Gurley (Georgia) RB
2. Marcus Mariota (Oregon) QB
3. Jameis Winston (Florida State) QB
4. Kenny Hill (Texas A&M) QB
5. Everett Golston (Notre Dame) QB
6. Ameer Abdullah (Nebraska) RB
7. Amari Cooper (Alabama) WR
8. Taysom Hill (BYU) QB

I think the top 3 have proven to be there from past performance. Gurley will need very impressive stats to stay up because the Heisman has become "what crazy things can QBs do."

Kenny Hill is very talented, but will he be consistent enough during the season. Right now, he deserves to be on the list.

I never thought about Everett Golston, but if he is consistently good, I would have a hard time not including him. He has a monster schedule.

Abdullah is my favorite RB this year. He was consistent last year. But like I said about Gurley, if Abdullah wants to win, he has to be super impressive.

Why include a WR? Cooper could be the best college football WR of all time and still not win.

Taysom Hill is good, but the SOS will hurt him when compared to the others.

Taysom Hill has a real chance if BYU goes undefeated. He's on my fantasy college football team on ESPN. Glad I got him too. Dude's a baller.

I really don't like the Heisman anymore. It's not even a "best player award", its a "best offensive player on most exciting team" award now.

I think James Conner should at least be in the top 8

A good list.

Right now, Taysom Hill is the most exciting player for me to watch. He takes cheap shots, no problem. He runs through people, no problem. He hurdles people, no problem. He throws the ball, no problem.

Kenny Hill had a great first game.

Amari Cooper leads the nation in receiving.

But to break into the top three is going to be tough for anyone.
Gurley has the hype but does get worn down.
Mariota has been a great player every year. Not just one year, but every year.
Jameis Winston, undefeated, national champion, Heisman winner. But he seems to have character issues.

I think there are 3 in the B1G that has a chance. Abdullah, Gordon, and Hackenberg. Since, PSU is eligible for post-season, I think they will be covered on more. If they do great, Hackenberg will be a major part of it and might be a sleeper.

I want to say Cook, but he is too bland for this award.

Huntley has not been impressive to start the season, but he could very likely turn it around. If Baylor has the 2nd best chance of going undefeated, I can see someone from that team being noticed.

:susp:

He is very good. But they won't vote for him. Nobody will be watching any of his games.

Gordon is B1G's only hope and that is a long shot IMO.

Abdullah is amazing, but I don't see enough Nebraska hype to draw attn. fair or not that is the reality.

Gurley, Blueberry Hill, and Mariota as of today are the only 3 in discussion

Winston, but that is a controversial pick with the integrity that is supposed to be attached to the Heisman.

Shonn Greene was unheard of going into his junior year. He was at a JuCo and working at a furniture store the previous year. It wasn't until halfway through the season before people started mentioning him. He won the Doak Walker Award.

Abdullah was AP's 1st team preseason All-American beside Gurley. He has recognition going in. He nearly rushed 100 yards in every game last year. Gurley and Gordon didn't.

Gurley and Gordon play for far better teams. With the exception of RG3 that has played a big role of late.

Call me crazy, but didn't Nebraska beat Georgia in a bowl game last year?
