Gold Glove is a good concept, but whoever actually votes for it completely fucks up the process.

There should be some standards involved in this award, such as (just examples, these are not actual proposed mins)...

1) Min of 75 games started at the position
2) Min 900 innings at the position
3) Batting has NO baring on the award

If these three rules (change the numbers to whatever would be appropriate) we declared as the basis of the award, it would add some credence to the award. That way, light hitting defensive specialists would (may) have a better chance of winning the award if the voters are reminded of what the award is while voting.

Giving the award to Jeter is just a joke. He is NOT an elite defensive SS.

Fair enough.

My comment on him was more about the fact that Bochy should not get it this year (base purely on reg-season).

As much as I think Donnie is a joke, he did guide the doggies from 10 back to win the division by about 6 games. He should have been a finalist.

Kershaw is a clear NL winner.

AL is tough. Felix is a stud, but he has gotten a lot of love from the voters in the past. Might he start to get overlooked because they are bored with the darling? I would be OK with any of those 3 taking it, but I will guess it will be Felix again (taking the safe pick)
