And get Overrrpaaaaaid.

Dupuis a very good player but without Sid he doesn't score 10 this year, IMO.

So unless the team signing him has Getzlaf, Giroux, Tavares, Sedin, Spezza or any other puck distributor who's in his prime, Dupuis will not live up to expectations. Even so, he'll likely never meet these levels again.

ya, if i'm dupuis i'm stayin right where i am.. one of the cup favorites year in and year out.. top line time.. playing with sid.. as long as the pens offer is even remotely fair, i'd take that.

Dupuis is more than just some lamppost cashing in on skating with all world centers. He's a nuts and bolts kind of guy. To steal a line from Lavy, Dupuis, "plays with jam". He's probably one of the best forwards on the team for the penalty kill. He has blazing speed for a veteran. Never takes a shift off. Fore-checks and back-checks like a demon.

I'm sure there are probably 20+ teams out there that wouldn't mind having a guy like him in their locker room. Dupuis' due a raise. And by the way he has played over these past couple of years, he might have priced himself out of Pittsburgh.

One thing that might make him stay... his family has roots in the city. His kids have all been going to school here for years. Maybe he won't want to move them. One can hope

I agree that he'll get more than his worth, but don't underestimate his worth either. So much more than goals. He's at 20 for the year, and while 2 of those are EN, most are even strength. Obviously Sid makes a big freaking difference there, but the man never stops. He's probably the most consistent guy on the roster alongside Adams in terms of showing up every night.

Another winger set to make a ton of money is David Clarkson. I don't want the Devils throwing $5-6 Million his way which apparently is his rumored price. Quality player, but he is not worth top tier money.

Somebody will pony up that type of cash though, you just know it. 29 years old, you know he'll be looking to hit the jackpot on a multi-year deal.

/I like him too, but I think Feaster should stay away

i'm not trying to undervalue him, but i see him as a solid 3rd line, pk, energy type guy that can chip in some goals.. i think that's what he is.. but when he plays with crosby he's all those things, plus a dynamic scorer, which is what will boost his price.. if he wants to collect on it

this is ray shero you're talking about.. for that deal to happen you'll have to include the twins and your first round pick.. we're talking about one of ray's roster players, not some prospect.

he's such a dick :tsk:

Marty should be back next year. He's playing well and I think he really wants to get to 700. You may see him 2 seasons from now. HGH is a hell of a drug.

No, you're 100% right. He's the perfect 3rd liner. I mean, that's all he was when the Pens got him with that Hossa deal. Just so happens that he developed crazy chemistry with Sid. And while I see him wanting to cash in on it, I do tend to wonder about the hometown/"Sid Crosby is my freaking center here" discount. He was undrafted, bouncing around essentially, until he came here...tend to wonder what merit lies in that. BUT, I'm not gonna be that ridiculous homer who expects it. We'll see. He's a very important member of this team though...really hate to lose him.

My take on Dupper.

If the Pens win the Cup, easy, bye-bue Dupper. An undrafted player into the NHL, 2 time cup winner (see IF above)... go take care of your family, chase the money my man. Dupper will fetch between 3-3.5 on the open market... too rich for Pens blood esp if folks think they are going to sign Letang AND Malkin AND Iggy.

If the Pens don't win the Cup... probably bye bye Dupper. Again, chase the money you silly undrafted, cup winner, aging player (not many contracts for him)

Dupper is a perfect 1st liner folks...
He is smart enought to play with top talent.
He is fast enough to keep up with top talent.
His shot is good enough to finish top talent passes.
His defense awareness allow top talent to 'take chances'.

Is he a 3rd liner... sure, if you want. his game is any line. Fast, straight line, soft spots, defense responsible.

When was the last time he cost the Pens a goal? 1st line minutes he deserves.

Some teams will have some tough decisions regarding which players to retain due to the cap decreasing to $64 million next season. St. Louis along with Vancouver will be forced one way or the other to move/buy-out players in order to shed salary.
