I like Reid, but what the fuck were they thinking? They could have gotten him without trading. I am beyond pissed.

49ers can still move up. They still have the 2 2nds and a 3rd

Reid is not a difference maker at safety. You don't trade up for that. Absolutely horrific approach in trying to address our current crisis at the safety position

Could have been worse, but I just don't understand moving so far up for a guy that virtually no one had going before the mid-20s at best.

I'll join the "bleh" pick on this. We didn't give up the farm but we could have had this guy by not moving up. I thought we could have gotten a comparable safety later and gone with more depth up front on defense. Not a fan but at least we're still loaded up for round 2.

So, all the 49ers did was swap 1sts and 3rds with Dallas? That doesn't sound terrible since they still have the 2nds.

Players that we've traded up for...
Anthony Davis and Navorro Bowman (We did trade UP and not down for Bowman right?)

I think Baalke knows what he's doing

I don't like this pick at all. I also like Reid, but that is too early for him. He's a guy we probably could have waited for in the mid-second and would likely be there. I was resigned to taking him at 34 which I'd be okay with.

Not impressed with this move at all.

I really hope he can step in and be a very good day 1 starter. If he's another AJ for his rookie year, I might boycott next year's first round.

49ers have reportedly been linked to Reid since October. Yeah, October. I'd have been fine and quite happy with Cyprien, too. Or Swearinger or Elam. Dang. Baalke and company continually get aggressive, maybe too aggressive I'd say, in moving around the draft to nail somebody they want.

We give up a 3rd rounder. Amerson or some talented safety will be available in the 3rd round tomorrow.

Does anyone think Reid is going to counter the headache Austin, Fitz, and Harvin will give us???!!

Xavier Rhodes, Desmond Trufant, Floyd and Patterson all on board and we trade up for freaking Reid. I'm shocked......

We're desperate and Reid is a good cheap option
