Given a 3-0 lead right off the bat and already gave back 2 in a 4 hit second inning. Is it bad I actually want him to blow this game? Or at the very least we score like 8 more runs and he gives up about 6 more?

We ended up winning but what was with Gardy(yes, im questioning him again) not having Carroll bunt in the 9th? The same thing we ended up doing in the 11th? At least he learned the mistake.

Mauer is most likely walked like he was in the 11th but he followed with a hit so maybe we win? If not, the situation is the same 1st and 2nd 1 out. But not understanding why he didn't try it?

was it Carroll batting average that struck him with confidence? Was it our league worst(by over .60 points!!!!) average at the leadoff spot? These are things you have to be aware of. Other sites have nats fans agreeing with twins fans calling Gardy the Nats 10th man LOL.

On that point. What do you guys think we need to do with our lineup? We are really in a tough spot with limited options at the top of the order but we cannot continue to bat Joe Mauer 2nd with our inepte leadoff spot. We are wasting his power surge(6 homers at this point for him is a surge sans 2009) of homers and doubles. Our average at lead off was .179 entering today and Carroll went 0-4. This just CAN'T continue.

I'm thinking first put Joe back down to 3 at least. I still would be interested to try him behind Willy and Morneau. Let Florimon get a crack a leadoff, hes the most consistent of all our average guys and he has speed and ability to get timely knocks. Giving Hicks another shot up in the order might be nice too. He's coming around and already can draw walks and has speed. I know his start to the year is a big reason our lead off average is so low. But, we have to try something.

If Mauer must stay batting second. I think it is time to put Florimon up and out of the 9 hole. Especially in interleague. You can't go pitcher, carroll/escobar, then Mauer. Absolute waste.

Not to change the subject there, Mr Insult, but Doumit, (you know, the MLB player whom you referred to as "trash") got the game-winning hit yesterday. How's that foot of yours taste? Do you prefer it with toe-jam?? No doubt you've sucked on your own foot countless times and have a preference in how it's prepared. Many Twins players described as having "ouchies" by Ron Gardenhire. Really? And if you read his quotes about Mauer getting rest it's just sad. It is understandable to sit the catcher in a DH, that's fine. But the way he words it is pathetic.

But the real problem really kicks in. Mauer sits game 1...completely fine. Game 2...hes playing 1B?!?!?!?! WTF Ron. Stop babying players. So we get drilled in game 1 and now have Morneau out in game 2 with florimon, escobar, carroll and the pitcher all batting. We had an off day on Friday(rain out) and a off day tomorrow. I think Joe can catch two days in a row.
