Yep, hard to find an opinion on him. Starting to think this current version of Blanco might be Gary Brown's ceiling. Might see Brown moved if the Giants need to add an infield bat in July.

Chris Heston, pitching for Richmond...
0.84 ERA, 0.867 WHIP, 42.2 IP in 7 starts, 33/10 K/BB
It is the EL, but DAYUM!!!!
33/10 K/BB and .867 WHIP is still damn good for the EL
I like the 10 BB, but 33K in 42.2 IP is a bit low.
I wonder what his GO/FO is?
Either way, he did not exactly come out of nowhere. He was on most radars coming into this season, and so far, he is breaking out BIG TIME!!!
Just like Daryl Maday a few years back...
Considering what happened to Maday after he hit AA, that's not very encouraging. Let's hope it goes a lot better for Heston.
Jeff Perlman 3:50 PM: Yikes! Gary Brown hitting .237 in Richmond. Is Giants brass concerned, or is it because he's adjusting to Double-A?
Baggs: They should be concerned. I know a lot of scouts don't like the way Brown hits, with his hands pinned against his body. He'll have to make adjustments. Not to say he can't be the everyday center fielder, but he's not on the fast track everyone wanted to put him on.

Keep an eye on Kelby Tomlinson, a shortstop from Texas Tech. He's the fastest guy in the organization. I predict he'll be moved up from Augusta to San Jose soon.
Maday always KILLED AA. It was AAA where he could hardly record an out.
Excellent draft preview by Dr.B.
I saw that. I'm intrigued by Hansley. I think the Gs go pitching heavy in this draft, which means they'll have to grab HS guys.

What can you guys tell us about Roger Kieschnick? He is tearing it up at Fresno.
1.021 OPS 11 HR
He seems to be moving up the minors fast. Cup of coffee in September, given the crowded outfield?
I have mixed thoughts on him.
He has had some success, but he has also been injury prone (back problems). My gut says he is Ben Copeland/John Bowker. However, to be fair, when he has been healthy, he has done real well, and when he was hurt, he was in the EL, so he had EVERYTHING going against him.
There is also the issue, as you stated, of the crowded OF. Not only do we have 5 (8 if you count Huff, Belt and Pill) solid OFers in SF, but we also have Peggy in line at Starbucks as well (not to mention Brown, Parker, Christian, etc).
