On another note... Anybody ever check out bbtia? Was over there reading and there seems to be an inexplicable amount of hate for Kinsler over there from some posters. Like MY type of hate. I don't get it. His average is down, but he still gets on base, hits for plenty of power and is probably the second or third best second baseman in baseball. Especially considering his defensive abilities. Seeing him and Elvis turn a double play is one of the most beautiful things in baseball.

I dont get it either. Young is the only one that sucks

Needs 86 more plate appearances to qualify. If he plays every game here on out and gets 4 plate app. per game that = 112 and he will qualify.

I didn't realize how many AB's he had in August. At that rate he could qualify, but not at the rate he's been used for the rest of the season.

Wash came out and said Murphy is his full time lf. Been a good call so far.

Ian Kinsler with 14E is on track to record 17E for the season ... most he will have had since 18E in 2008 (and 2006 ... his first season).

I'm more interested in ties. What if we have two teams tied for the 2nd WC spot and the other WC tied with a fellow division leader? Meaning we have two ties, one for a WC/Division and one tie between two other teams. Is it all based on division and league record, similar opponents, etc? Or do they do a playoff game before the single WC playoff game? That could really hurt a team, having to throw out what I would assume are their best two pitchers before then playing the best team in their league.

Wash makes no comment about Kins base running because Kins is one of Wash favorites. That boneheaded pick off at 3rd and the following error completely changed the game. Ive never seen the stat on caught by pick off but I'm sure Kins leads the majors in being caught by pick off.

Honestly just getting on isn't the end of it. He has to be smart enough to advance when it is right and stay on base for guys to drive him in, that is the whole boiling over point...he got picked off after getting on base. Those errors are few and can be fixed. You can teach and reinforce base path awareness.

this. he gets moved over to third and gets picked off because he wandered too far off base. where was he going? why was he so far off and why did the 3rd base coach let him get that far off?
