Giants will have five guys making eight figures (assuming we let Beltran walk):

Zito
Timmy
RoRo
Huff
Cain

Although both will get substantial raises in their first arb year, neither Panda nor Song will make $10MM (in fact, I could see both of them together not making that much). Contrast that with --

Philth having NINE guys making eight figures (assuming they pick up Lidge and Oswalt's options, and they let Rollins and Ibanez walk):

Doc
Howard
Oswalt
Utley
Lidge
Lee
Blanton
Hamels
Pence

in addition, Victorino makes $9.5MM next year.

Nine (almost 10) fucking guys making more than $10MM a year. Possibly ELEVEN guys if they re-sign Rollins and Ibanez.

This shit ain't right.

Careful, tz...

The Giants are becoming one of the big-boys, payroll-wise. Not sure we really want to open this Pandora's Box...

You're both right...the shit ain't right, but the Giants maybe benefit more than they suffer from it.

I've said this often, we need a salary cap and a salary FLOOR.

Players should get the same amount of $ give or take.

Never happen, the powerful owners like it just the way it is. And the less powerful ones make plenty of money not even trying to win (Astros, Royals, As, etc) under the current rules.
