I'd love to hear the rationale behind your AL MVP ballot. And selecting Carlos Gonzalez ahead of Joey Votto.

I am not a SABRmetric guy. I prefer a mixture of the two stats.
I also do not believe in voting for a pitcher unless the pitcher just has an unbelievable season.

Gonzalez over Votto

Gonzalez had 5 more runs, 20 more hits, 4 more RBIs, 10 more stolen bases, and 23 more total bases.

the AL

I am basing this stats on just the five I listed because I deleted the rest from my research.

Cabrera led in runs, RBIs, and was second only to Bautista in total bases
Bautista was second in runs and RBIs while leading these five in total bases
Cano was 3rd in runs and RBIs first in hits
Hamilton is hurt in my eyes by the fact that he missed the whole month of Sept. during the pennant race
Beltre was IMO the fifth best player in the AL that year

After all that it comes down to the individual voter's opinion

So for Gonzalez, you didn't factor in at all that he played for a non-contender, and didn't account for the fact that his home/road splits were a joke. Got it.

There was no pennant race for the Rangers. They were a shoo-in for the playoffs by the time Hamilton got hurt, and he was the primary reason they had such a comfortable lead. And, again, it appears that Cabrera playing for a non-contender didn't matter much. It's all about the RBI, I guess.

Did you look at rate stats at all? I only see counting stats here.

He's allowed to have an opinion. Why be so harsh?

How is what I said harsh? I'm just asking questions. I don't think he put a tremendous amount of thought into his opinion, but he's perfectly entitled to it.
