He's looked much better in LF than his first go round, but CF is a stretch at this point, but anything is possible when your alternative is DDJ

Yes I did. Surprised me somewhat initially. But the more I thought about it, sounds good to me.

A few days ago Mike Bascik was talking about DDJ's arm and he said it's one of the worst he's ever seen. So I'll roll the dice on having Profar out there.

Like the team said about Desmond, "if you can play SS in the majors, I bet you can play a pretty good CF too."

Yeah, at one time I thought maybe Profar would play in CF in 2017 and then take over for Beltre at 3B in 2018, but now I think maybe Roogie gets traded this offseason to make room for him.

Don't know if it's been mentioned yet, but we're going to be on the hook for $9M per year through 2020 for Fielder. Detroit pays $6M, insurance pays $9M, and we're stuck with the remaining $9M.

So you can look at it two ways- either we're saving $9M a year now, or we're wasting $9M a year on nobody.

It was sunk cost either way. Look at it this way. Would you have been happy to trade him away and eating 9mil/yr? I sure would.

Bascik was definitely exaggerating there, his arm is poor, yes, but its not god awful
