Series Thread: 2 there, 2 here with the Rangers and Rockies 8/8-8/11

None of it matters if the fucking bullpen doesn't suck though.

The bullpen is going to be better. I don't know if they would have been just as bad had the game been played under ideal conditions or if the heat mattered, but they are going to be better. Banny's decisions are more of a worry to me.

Took 3 out of 4 from Rockies. I'll take it. But 9 runs should have been enough to win today. Except that Lucas Harrell started, which leads to my thoughts on this game...

DFA Harrell today. I don't care who or what replaces him. Bad pickup JD.

Some "shutdown" bullpen we have. Maybe JTA is right on about Diekman. Although to be fair, when only Hamels and sometimes Darvish can even sniff the 7th inning you've got a big problem. Due to the inability of anyone else to go deep in a game, this bullpen is totally overworked. Today was only a matter of time. But still, this bullpen has a ways to go before the moniker "shutdown" should be applied.

So I'm hearing the PTBNL in the Lucroy and Jeffress trade could be someone significant. Was adding Jeffress to the deal, who is clearly nothing special, really worth that?

Banister, please pull your head out of your rear and PH for Chirinos in the 7th inning. Either Lucroy or Beltran would have been fine there. Real head scratcher there Banny.

And for pete's sake MLB DO NOT SCHEDULE DAY GAMES IN TEXAS DURING AUGUST! Play the damn game at night and let the Rockies catch a late flight. Rangers do it all the time. Just absurd.

This was a tough loss. Tigers coming off getting swept at Seattle. They will play better this weekend. Hope we don't let this one carry over into the weekend. We'll see.

Diekman had been rested. No excuse for him. He was a bum today and yesterday. He has no real advantage against LHers.

Perez has been regularly sniffing the 6th & 7th his last few starts

All but 6 went 6+ and 3 of those went 5.2 innings, he's been eating innings this year even wit his tendency to implode during an inning every now and again
