There's also the fact that he's wrong year-in and year-out. Last year he was convinced for a very long time that Michigan was the best football team in the country, even though they lost head to head with Notre Dame. It took the Ohio State game for him to change. This year, he swore Texas was back and that Ehlinger would be in New York.

Those records really didn't strike me as one of the very best coaches in football.

he took over a program in shambles. Those first couple years were rough and now he has 71% and wins 9-10 games a year in a top 2 conference in the nation. I would say that is very solid. Take out those years of turmoil and he is a 80% win coach, which is top 5 in the country for a coach tenure longer than just a couple years. Also, he is an elite recruiter
