Our best CB and best LB are both done for the year. Guess they'll be "dismissed" soon as well? :noidea:

O'Brien has already been suspended before for "violation of team rules", so this isn't all that surprising. Like someone said, he's a senior who wouldn't return next season regardless so being "processed" doesn't make all that much sense.

Deflection, I say. deflection!!! Orange sucks.:violin:

If it were "processing", then there would need to be a benefit, otherwise what's the point? He's a senor starter, who would've been gone after this season, so this in no way frees up a spot for him to be replaced. Thankfully, the injury also wasn't as bad as it looked, he tweeted that he was fine and flew back with the team. If he had to miss a few games then fine, no different than any of the injured guys on the team.

O'Brien as been in trouble for under-age drinking and "resisting arrest", and also for "violation of team rules" (was suspended at the beginning of last season), so we know he hasn't been the best decision maker. My guess is, is that he failed a drug test and blew his last chance.

Tennessee's A.J. Johnson and Danny O'Brien arrested

No. 23 Vols suspend DT O'Brien for violation of team rules

But, that's just my orange kool-aid drinking opinion...

He's owning up to his mistake. Most likely found drugs in his system from blood work after going to hospital after injury. He's already been suspended before for "violation of team rules". Sucks for O'Brian, but Butch really had no choice.

Didn't you hear? We're "processing" him for that HS 5-star stud DT recruit. Never mind the fact that he wouldn't be eligible until next season, when O'Brien is gone. Also, I've heard having a bunch of injured players on the roster is bad juju. Feel sorry for O'Brien, but it had to be done.

Hah, not at all. But there are some folks that are so filled with SEC hatred, that they will jump on the SEC for anything and everything. Not saying you, but they are out there. Feel kinda bad for people that can't look at things objectively and form their own opinion.

If you only knew how much I despise the SEC and everything it stands for ... but I'll save that for a later day.

I understand your 9 conference game diatribe but the SEC is not some evil empire. The SEC is a conglomeration of proud football schools currently being roughshod by Alabama. Its not the entire SEC that needs to feel your wrath but the Evil Empire of Alabama led by the tyrant Saban.

Year after year SEC as a whole has more Fulmer Cup points than any other conference.

But the winner of the cup this year was a venerable PAC school, Colorado. And I believe last year was Washington St..
Rutgers won it last year ... although Washington St. gave them a run for their money.

My wife was asking me about this kid just yesterday....she was concerned for his health after watching the game
a few days ago.

Not the end to the story that I was expecting.

Don't forget, prisoners also get processed and they wear orange...is there a pattern here?

Aren't you getting a little ahead of yourself? 5-star stud DTs know better than wearing orange...they look better in crimson. ;)
