Lol you're being difficult. I give Lakers fans all kinds of shit and this is a bad take. So if Reaves moves on this year did the Lakers not have a hand in his development?

We don't count Ball, D Lo, Ingram or Randle because they got better after LA?

Not sure that's fair.

Kuzma also
Yeah....we have developed talent...

Crazy talk.

Watching Dan Patrick...

Apparently, a lot of folks are jumping on the Lakers coming out of the West bandwagon.

Still don't see it happening.

The Lakers need to win game 2.

Don't let these mofos win a game without Ja. Put them down, 2-0, before heading back to Los Angeles.

Ja's play style is fun as hell to watch but it's clear he's abusing his body

Missing a lot of games

If there is a year...it's this one.

They need perfect health over 15 to 20 games though to get there.

I don't see it happening.

Yeah, whether Ja plays or not, they need to get greedy. If they can end this quickly, they can get some rest while other series get sorted out.

I don't see it happening.

I think/hope they'll stay healthy, I just think there will be series where they'll need HCA but won't have it.

I do agree though, this would be the year. Every team has holes and if healthy, they may have the fewest holes.

I just think lack of HCA and how late this roster was put together will catch up to them.

It was great to see Lebron and AD concentrating on defense while others were scoring.

AD had 7 blocked shots yesterday. Lebron had 3.

I was honestly trying to figure out who the last decent prospect was that the Lakers developed and kept around. Everyone knows how the Lakers do things, it’s no surprise. Didn’t mean any disrespect to anyone or anything.

The D has been on point in LA these two playoff games. Minny was nailing everything in the first half but when LA turned up that D they shut it down.

This is why Lebron is the perfect all time player to build a team around. 38 years old and locking his man down and letting the youngins take the shots on O if they're hot.

I know you mean no disrespect and I get your point is developing a guy past what we see him as.

Most of those other guys were top 5 guys who blossomed later. Kuzma wasn't though. So him for sure.

Their odds of winning round 1 went way up.

They will be a coin flip if not favorite in round 2 if they win.

And Phoenix unexpectedly struggled in game 1.

I am not betting on the Lakers now. But I see why people are jumping aboard.

The high level prospects were packaged up and shipped off for AD (or let go to clear space for a potential bigger fish). They developed Caruso, as well as the aforementioned Kuzma. Lakers helped Monk re-emerge, as his career was stagnant before coming to LA. Zubac was on his way, and Nance was a useful rotational player before being traded.

In retrospect, really wish they hadn't included that McDaniels pick in the Schroder trade...dammit.

I'm not getting too high after one game. Lakers need a better answer for JJJ and can't expect consistent scoring near that level from Rui. He had to hit the 3s that Beasley and Brown couldn't make.

I do too. But it's also 1 game with the Grizz missing Adams and Clarke. Now possibly without Ja. I want to see what happens against a team that is healthy and has has their roster together longer than the Lakers have before buying in.

It is a weird goalpost to set when those players (not as picks) were good enough to bring back talent in big trades (or ended up too expensive to retain - whether or not that was a good decision by the front office - arrgh). As ridiculous as it may seem, the Lakers don't allow themselves a wide enough window for prospects to develop before moving them to chase bigger fish. If the team isn't a contender today, move whatever you can to make it a contender by next season seems to be the modus operandi, especially when big names are available. This franchise rarely bottoms out to a full, longer rebuild. The patience only lasts until a superstar is available.

Does that exist in these playoffs, at least in the West? The Grizz aren't getting those guys back. The Suns were stripped of depth for KD and slapped back together with spare parts (depth wise), but would still be the favorite. When is Playoff P back (and does it matter with the Lakers' block vs the Clips)? Are the Kings ready to really step up? The Nuggets are maybe the only example.

And fucking THT.

I HATE that dudes game but he certainly benefitted from being in LA.

Fuck him for having a 26 percent usage rate in Utah though. He should be arrested for that.
