I am not dumping my players to anyone and I take offense to that statement. I thought it was a fair trade. If I was going to dump a player it would be to you Nos.

So when I make a trade and get the better of the deal you say I'm cheating. Then when someone else gets the better of the deal you accuse me of collusion.

Yes, I do have one other problem. You making trades to help a friend. You are suppose to be one of the two people running and making sure everything is fair and equal. You making trades to help influence the results of the draft chits on what we are trying to do...

Whoa, that's off base. I've seen you on here a lot of times ragging Ritz(as have I) for always offering trades slanted in his favor. This trade, he lost the best player, but got 2 really good ones. I would for sure say Yount>Trammell, but McGee>Bo works in his favor for sure

First off when I joke around about you getting the better end of the deal do I ever accuse you of cheating? Seriously????

No, thats all just in fun but as I said you are one of two people who are responsible for making sure things run smoothly. It doesn't matter whats said from this point forward you traded Bo who you wanted as your #1 pick for McGee when you already had a centerfielder, that alone makes everything else irrelevant...

It's not off base and I mean no offense at all to you UK but McGee>Bo isn't the point even though I disagree with it.

He wanted Bo as his 1st pick now he trades him for a centerfielder when he already had one.

Wow, Smitty has 4 of the next 6 picks, with a lot of good players left on the board....

I thought was a great pick until you and others slammed me for taking him. McGee was listed at OF so I thought it would be a upgrade over Bo.

Bo is without a doubt the hardest player to gauge. I tried to flip Bo for a RP because I have some guy named Bonds in LF, and the guy said he thought Bo was overrated. What I said to him, I really believe...if you put all these players on the same field, in their prime, and had coaches that had no clue who they were, they were just taking the most talented guys, Bo would make the team, and would probably start somewhere in the OF. A guy that runs 4.2 with a cannon arm can play anywhere. Bo started 88 games in CF, played CF part of the game in 80 more

McGee played 100's of games at all 3 OF positions

He's my take on the trade (I'm gonna use WAR just because no one wants to see me list a lot of stats.)

Yount is the best player involved, that's obvious, but when looking at peak performance, it isn't such a one sided trade as it seems. Yount did win 2 MVP's and had a career hig WAR of 10.5 in 1982. Trammell never got close to that, with a high of 8.2 in 1987.

Now, the deal does even out in the other half of the deal. McGee also won an MVP award and had a WAR of 8.1. Bo Jackson is the most overrated player of this draft and most likely should be a scrub on every team, with his career high war of 3.5.

If looking just at peaks, UK gets 14.0 WAR from Ritz, and Ritz gets 16.3 from UK. Yount does have the biggest name recognition, which could help with the voting, but it does seem fair.

In the end Ritz traded his best player and the biggest blunder in the history of mock drafts for two extremely good starters.

I think thats a pretty fair analogy and exactly what I was thinking, with the exception of Bo being a scrub, which, at his peak as an all star game MVP, is pretty absurd. I remember that weekend. The other players were in awe watching Bo launch 500' homers and make plays even the top players couldn't make.
Totally agree that it helps both teams. I already have Barry Bonds, Joe Carter and Juan Gonzalez in the OF, so I didn't mind losing a top CF in McGee to add an all time great in Yount

No he's not...

McGee .333 OBP 352 steals
Nixon .343 OBP 620 steals

The fact he trades Bo who he wanted as his 1st round pick until I convinced him he could get him a few rounds later makes this trade lame! Add in trading a SS who everyone would agree is better in Yount makes the trade smell funny to me...

Those are career numbers. At their peak, McGee was league MVP. Nixon never sniffed that

All I'm saying is Stoke never gave me an answer to my trade request and I don't think it's fair that UK is catching up to me in the trade department...:noidea:

I'm done talking about it, you guys are talking about things that dont matter, the point was Yount > Trammell and he wanted Bo as his #1 pick.

The fact Bo is overrated has ZERO to do with it.

This is by far the most trades we ever had in a draft.

He had one excellent year when he ran wild and hit like .350 other than that he was average. The fact Nixon has a higher OBP and more steals makes him just as good to me.
