Interesting story with some fairly crappy but rare footage of the 1939 W.S. against the Yanks.
The curious part of this '39 team in winning the pennant was that they had lost 98 games in 1937 under Dressen, who was replaced the next year by McKecknie, who won 82 games. Let's begin to believe that the manager does matter.
Here's the story and the footage on the 1939 W.S., won by the juggernaut Yankees.
Interesting Gehrig trivia included.
