It was all about penalites.

Texas committed 4 penalties on defense/Special Teams in the last 2 minutes
Iowa State never commits penalties

EHLINGER was great. He was nearly flawless in the 2nd half, only to to be undermined by defense and coaching again.
Buechele would have lost 55-0 today with that specific defense.

Texas had the game won, but could not stop themselves from committing one last stupid penalty.

Has there ever been a more impactful offsides penalty??

I cannot remember one little 5 yard penalty being a complete and utter game changer.

6 penalties to 3 penalties, and ISU declined a few more

This was on coaching today. Penalties are a coaching problem.

That might be the worst loss in 10 years, because it was literally the dumbest way to lose.
Maybe the CAL game where Texas missed the XP after coming all the way back, but that was just a miss. Misses happen.

This loss was arguably the worst coaching mistake in the Herman era, and maybe the Strong era
Ehlinger had a legacy building winning drive wiped away by a series of almost comical penalties

I am still trying to process how that loss happened. The only person to blame in on the sidelines.
