The offense was not near this anemic in the postseason of '10. They were able to score their own runs without having to rely on the opposing D. This team can not do anything without hand-outs.

One thing I was wondering while driving home. Is Bochy at times too much of a "player's manager"?

-Keeping Lincecum on the NLCS roster and saying he wants to "give him an inning"
-Keep throwing Strickland out there.
-Keeping Blanco as the leadoff guy

Bochy has the success to avoid too much criticism.

But I just don't get these moves. He sees all the stats we see (and many that we do not, to be fair). What does he see in Blanco leading off that we do not see? Pence did well there when he did it. Maybe there is some calculus that says he adds 1.4 runs per while batting #5 but only 1.1 when batting 1st, and Blanco adds 0.4 when leading off and 0.6 when batting anywhere else, so the net runs are higher with Blanco = 1 and Pence = 5 (the numbers are obviously BS, but you get the point).

I would have preferred that he had a worthless single. That way, they would have an argument to keep him in and keep Yadi out. As it is, they might as well get Yadi in there for his defense/pitching whisperer-ness.
