According to Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports, Greg Holland will decline his $15 million player option for 2018 and hit the free agent market this winter.
Holland faded in the second half of the 2017 season with Colorado, but he still wound up tied for the National League lead in saves (41) with Kenley Jansen of the Dodgers and the 31-year-old Scott Boras client is almost certain to find a multi-year deal on the open market. Heyman writes that "Boras believes it's time for an explosion of salaries for bullpen stars." Holland figures to draw free agent interest from a range of clubs, including the Rockies.
