So with Nashville and Winnipeg out two teams thought to be head and shoulders above the league. Do we now move another notch down the list in our quest for a cup.

Nah. Always a handful of competitors every year.

Well always up for a game 7, hope this one turns out to be a dozzy! Be crazy if Vegas wins it all, 500-1 odds! Wish I'd put a grand on that at the begining of the year.

came across an interesting spreadsheet on twitter that calculates predictions for free agent signings this summer based on an algorithm that takes into account prior production, prior contract, age, etc.

Some of the guys we've talked about and their prediction:
Tavares - 8 years, 10.7
Carlson - 8 years, 8.6
Kane - 4 y ears, 7.3
Larkin - 6 years, 6.3
Stastny - 3 years, 5.4
JvR - 3 years, 5.3
Maroon - 4 years, 5.3
Bozak - 3 years, 4.3
Neal - 1 year, 4.3
Reinhart - 2 years, 4.1
Grabner - 4 years 3.8
Grubauer 2 years, 3.5
Hutton - 2 years, 3.1
Cole - 3 years, 3.0
Komarov - 3 years, 2.8
Hickey - 2 years, 2.7
Saros - 2 years, 2.4
Riley Nash - 3 years, 2.7
de Haan - 1 year 1.6

As for Flyers UFAs
Filppula - 1 year, 2.2
Manning - 3 years, 2.4

I'll take Tavares and Carlson, even at close to $20 million. Money well spent. They would arguably be the two best players on our team.

I saw one ticket of someone who put $50 at 500-1 and is looking at 4 more wins for 25K.

Lets go Caps!

That Carlson deal would give me pause I think. I'd do the Tavares deal in a heartbeat though I think.

As much as I hate James Neal, 1 year for 4.3 may not be a bad move.

Grabner, I'm totally fine with 3.8, but I think 4 years is a little long. I'd much rather see him for 2 years. I don't think it's smart to sign bottom 6 wingers to deals longer than 2-3 years (see Dale Weise)

Stastny, Cole, Hickey, de Haan, and Nash all look like deals I would be good with.

Sounds like Morin is out 6 months after the latest surgery. So he won't be an option until December at the earliest. And he really won't have played much hockey in over a year at that point. I don't think Morin is much of a threat to crack the Flyers roster next season at this point.

Pretty sure he has to clear waivers now to be sent down, so he's likely on the team once he's cleared to play.

I will agree with this especially Grabner but comparing him to Weise is unfair as he brings major speed which you love and penalty killing which we need badly and 50 plus goals in the last two seasons which anyone could use a 20 goals scorer none of which Weise was ever able to do.

Single biggest @GoldenKNnights ticket liability for handful of #Vegas sportsbooks:@Westgate : $400 at 300:1....$120K@CGTechnology_ : $500 at 200:1....$100K@SouthPointLV : $400 at 150:1....$60K@GoldenNuggetLV : $250 at 200:1....$50K@WilliamHillUS : $1,000 at 50:1....$50K

I would think somebody on the planet had to put $1,000 or more on 500:1.

I still don't see them winning it all. This shit is absolutely unreal. They did fleece some teams in the expansion draft, but you wouldn't think near enough to build a Cup winning team. I mean the remaining teams have much more talent all over the ice.

This is all about money and I hate to say it, but it feels rigged right now.

Check out Carlson during this playoff run. 15 points and +6 in 18 games with over 26 minutes of ice per game. I think he's well worth $8.6 million based off of that kind of postseason production. 68 points during the regular season isn't bad either....Lol

I agree with the rest. We should definitely be signing some of these veterans this offseason. The money is there. Just pay them and be careful with the length of term.

Yes, but he is also one of the RFA's that needs a contract. Will be interesting to see what we do with him. The same goes for Hagg, Leier, Mrazek, Lyon, Stolarz and Martel.
