I dont think you pay someone 8 million to be tied 37th in goals scored per game .If that's the case Couts should be worth 15 million per.

Teams have been paying Kessel 8M per season for 5 years now (AAV, because that's what really matters). I guarantee you they're not paying him to play defense or hit somebody.

When we get Sidney Crosby, Malkin and Kris Letang ill accept a JVR/Kessell type player but since we dont have three of the best players at their respective positions to carry a loser like JVR well just sit on the outside of the playoffs and watch.

I dont have to come up with something better than that. The Pens can afford to carry scrubs and we cant its plain and simple. Reasoning is they are in the playoffs and we are on the outside looking in.
