They did. Once the off-season FA begins, they will have plenty to spend on a playmaker or two. Our farm is loaded and youngsters ready to move up. The future is bright.

Hell of a game to go to. Flyers left Elliot out to dry and he was horrible on a few.
Couldnt get the PP going at all.

Agree with you guys. That will probably do it. Blowing a 5-2 lead is tough to rebound from, plus the Jackets winning tonight.

7 out (really 8 with ROW tiebreaker), with 11 to play and two teams to pass, not looking good.

Future is still bright. Tons of solid pieces, prospects, and loads of cap space.

Couple of things I noticed watching the game live.

Patrick needs to get stronger, he is easily bodied by the defense.
Provorov just isnt himself and has regressed
Flyers need some size on defense. They have trouble clearing the front of the net.

JVR has been fantastic the last few weeks. Guy is a legit threat on offence and a great set of hands.
He has done what was asked when signed. Without the injury he probably score 35 this year.
Hate not making the playoffs but there is a lot to look forward to moving forward.
Really hope Hart is the answer in net. Truly think this team can go to the next level with a solid goalie, an addition on defense and 1 more top 6 forward

Agreed this team right now is good enough to make the playoffs if they didn't stink and go through a million goalies early in the season. But at the same time they aren't good enough right now to win a playoff round. Next season young guys will get better and they will surely add a few key players to give them a boost. Really nice to see guys like Myers show that they can play....

Starting to feel different around this team. I don’t think they’ll make the playoffs, but watching them grit it out and score with 20 seconds left to force OT, then again with 3 seconds left in OT. After Hart stoned Sid in alone, which has been an auto goal for 10 years.

JVR is a legit top end goal scorer in the NHL.
He may get 30 this year and would have gotten 35-40 if not hurt.

Just my opinion here, but to me as good as Sid is and I respect his play, but I will never appreciate him as a player like Gretsky, Lemioux, Yzerman, and other greats. Those guys were not the douchebag like Sid, Malkin, and others in today's game.
