and yes i began rooting for the caps when i moved to dc in 02, but really always kind of liked them even when they played the wings in the cup finals. had season tickets for a few years, then like a fuckin genius, let em go just in time for them to draft ov. fuckin briliant.

never will replace the wings, but they are my sloppy seconds...

I'm not going to break down the whole series, but one thing that I'm going to talk about is the Caps getting a lead in the 3rd period and then holding it. The Lightning don't like to forecheck with that 1-3-1, and if you remember there was that one regular season game in Tampa where the Caps had a 1 goal lead and the caps would just wait in their own defensive zone passing it from D to D to D to D until something opened up making sure not to turn the puck over. THAT is what they must do with a lead in the 3rd period. They can't score if they don't have the puck.

ritari, what do youthink of the packers drafting sherrod? hard to get too excited drafting 32 (not complaining!) but i like the pick. can't complain about wanting to protect rodgers.
