Ballard got a huge fat rebound from Rinne in the first period
Suter saved a gaol of a huge rebound off of Edler in teh second period
anotehr fat rebound off Henrik in the 2nd period
the turover behind the net where he was fishing all over the place.
great save on sedin breakaway
I see alot of smothering the puck from luongo on the Preds chances and a few rebounds.

this was just watching the latest highlites. on NHL network..... I think the play of rebounds and whiffing is fairly even but Luongo gets the tag as giving up more for some reason. maybe its just me.

Eh Nashvilles has always had really good goalies and goaltending coachers, best in the league imo. Maybe that loss just left a sour taste in my mouth but we had no right to even be in that game, and Lou almost, but didn't, gave us the opportunity. I just think your D is studs so any goaltending could be good goaltending makes his job easy. The play I was referring to happened on a PP I think anyway he just made an easy play look difficult

He gets the tag because hes more consistent at it especially when they look like easy, smothering plays

same could be said on rinne on a couple plays as well where he was jsut fishing around after a turnover. it will go both ways. its funny you say he really gave your team the opportunity. did you team not earn that opportunity? also if every conversation goes on Luongo like this will get pretty stale. we have been doing it for years with Canucks goalies and I think Canucks fans are really getting tired of it. I know I am. but Ill discuss lots with anyone still.

that one play Rinne was swimming and the puck was behind him and Ryan Suter saved his ass

it goes both ways but dont let anybody know that

puck daddy wrote in his blog after game 7 that Luongo was basically lucky that the 5 men collapsed around him all night ... because no other team does that and more specifically because the Hawks didnt do that all night long during game 7 for Crawford ... yah right!!!

its all becoming very cliche'

actually I think NAshville is one of the best goaltending factories in the NHL. your goaltending coach works wonders with them, its seems when they leave they seem to fade (Vokun) We certainly have the D to beat you guys and if shut down Fish, Suter, and Weber we should take this but again it will not be easy. not at all. The Sedins however need to start putting some pucks in the net. at least this game they were charging the net and shooting more.

and frak what the hell is with Raymond. Why cant he go to the net and get dirty jebus that bugs me

perimeter perimeter perimeter perimeter perimeter

that is all I see from him. yes he had speed and some good PK but we need offensive plays from him that is not on the (here is that word again) perimeter

Vokoun actually had really good stats with an awful Florida team. Dan Ellis and Mason both had bad years tho

I think Ellis was a product of Tampa and that hurt him. Mason with exception of this year has been really good.

yup

he has mastered the big swoop around the back of the net ... at least he has abandoned the wraparound and now continues along the perimeter and looks for teammates to pass too (rarely finds them though)

Im waiting to hear what the Preds say today about the playoff atmosphere at Rogers. It looked nothing like the Hawks series ... more subdued because there is no hate ...

Maybe not quiet like the Hawks Series, but it looked like a Playoff atmosphere to me. Way better than Anaheim's.

thanks. it was hard to judge being a fan of the team as the chicago games were so freaking emotional. I think and believe it will be way better game 2.

thats not saying much :o

this is why I wanna hear today whether the Preds players were in any way awestruck by the atmosphere last night ... if they were ... thats troubling for them ... because the canucks fans have a whole hell of a lot more to give than what they came with last night

LOL

I'm sure it will pick up more as the series goes on. I bet most Vancouver fans are still trying to get over the intense Hawks series. Plus, it didn't help that the Preds played so bad (not taking anything away from the Nucks). Hard to cheer when the other team is putting you to sleep.

like i said before ... there is absolutely no hate between the 2 teams right now ... and last nights game was virtually emotionless ... Ballard destroys Tootoo and no response from anyone

Yeah, not much Predator fans have anything against the Nucks. The hate between the players will probably heat up a little more as the series goes on, though. But other than that, that's about it. And that hit on Tootoo was not a penalty. What is clipping anyway, lol? I understand trying to protect the players, but that was just being whistle happy. Tootoo popped right back up and was ready to play. I think even he was surprised.

he shouldnt have gotten 2 minutes for that ... should have been a 15 yard penalty

they missed a false start later on in the game

Oh, and 1 thing Nashville has to work on is winning faceoffs. They got dominated last night. I think at one point they were 0-12. They also have to figure out how they're going to get some shots on goal. The Canucks D at the blue line was ridiculous.
