Uhh you guys still use the trap. I saw it. I mean there were plenty of times I kept waiting for a Flyers defenseman to move the damn puck, but he just stood their behind his net wondering what the hell to do with the damn bisquit.

I admit I was very impressed with the way the Devils played against Philly. They dominated the play in almost every period of the series. I didn't think they would be able to match Philly's speed. I was WRONG.

didnt get to see all the games thanks to work. But the games I saw I saw A lot of aggressive forecheck and puck movement in our defensive end not allowing the flyers to set up in the zone.I dont recall seeing any trap the times i saw the flyers waiting behind the net were during line changes. If the devils were trapping their shot totals would have been significantly lower. The trap is a lot less attack and a lot more counter punch.Unfortunately the devils will never shed the trap stereotype

I saw in Game 5 the Devils with three guys at Center Ice while a Flyers defenseman was behind his own net without a damn clue as to what to do with the puck.

The Devils outplayed the Flyers in every facet of the game, but they still use the trap. Maybe not all the time, but they still use it.

was at work for game 5 couldnt tell you :noidea: but I have seen other teams using the trap far more this season.Devils have definately been more aggressive and been pinching the d A lot.Cant play the trap with the d pinching in it defeats the concept.IMO A lot of people use the term neutral zone trap to freely and assume the devils trap

Isles I would typically agree w you at least on a lot of things however by true definition the trap is a very very passive 1-2-2 where you really only have one forechecker, whos not all that aggressive.
The devils ran 2 highly aggressive forecheckers on the puck at almost all times.
The only time they trapped in the series was game 5 after the kovy goal

Will there be a line brawl after the opening faceoff in game one? I'd bet yes.

I think Bettman and/or Daly has warned both teams about those shenanigans, so I don't think anything will start off the hop.

There's not going to be a brawl out there... our "enforcers" aren't sniffing the ice this series/playoffs.

Boulton and Janssen won't be getting any playing time, and the Devils did such a good job of avoiding the push and shove nonsense in the first 2 rounds, I don't think we see a whole lot of fighting in this one. Both teams will be too focused on winning to get involved in a lot of nonsense.

Doc is always unbiased, even when he called the game son MSG. I'm happy he passed that along to Steve C.

Should be a good series and no I don't think the Devils play the trap anymore and that's one of the reasons I'll be pulling for them. If thy do play it they do it no more than most other teams play it.

The other being I have a dislike for Tort's, call him passionate or emotional I call him obnoxious and arrogant. I really do not have the hate that some do for the Rangers but Tort's makes me want to.....:puke:
