Nice....Never really saw him play this season so no idea of his production. But if we don't bring back TT and he wants that type of role I'd love to have him back (obviously he's a different player than TT ON the court).

He still good for a crazy hot stretch where he hit like 3 or 4 threes in a couple of minutes

When Mutumbo's Nuggets team knocked out the Sonics? It was still a decade until they changed it.

not even sure it was an 8 beating a 1 that forced the change. Might be wrong but thinking it was a Laker loss in 5?

It was about a lot of things.

In the playoffs, folks want to see #1 seeds scared by #8 seeds, but most don't want them to actually beat a #1 seed because ultimately they want the best 2 teams in the finals. 3 and 5 game series left too much chance for fluke wins.

The biggest reason though was money...more games...especially playoff games = more revenue. Better teams advancing also means more games in the later rounds and thus...more revenue.
