I already spent just under $1,200 for bearings two days ago (New Tries a couple weeks ago about $700 bucks). car has 123K on it... I can't keep on putting money into it
You can buy an alternator for that car for less than $100. You've sunk too much into it to be trading it out. Replacing the alternator doesn't require a mechanic...
good advice problem is how does he know its the alternator would not trust this mechanic 1200 for bearings good godYou can buy an alternator for that car for less than $100. You've sunk too much into it to be trading it out. Replacing the alternator doesn't require a mechanic...
Take it to autozone and have it tested for free. Yea, ditch that mechanic.good advice problem is how does he know its the alternator would not trust this mechanic 1200 for bearings good god
Granted I could just do all of this instead of getting a new car because they monthly payment for a new car would be more than I would pay now assuming the car lasts about another 6 months. They did say everything else is fine with car
well at least jets scored more than the mets giants not so muchYankees scored more runs yesterday than the Giants and Jets scored points combined
ANY parts store will test your alternator, starter and battery for free. Or, If you have a multimeter, you can easily check it yourself.
-Set meter to DC volts
-without car running, touch meter red lead to + post of battery and black lead to - battery post.
you should have between 12-12.8 volts
-with car running do the same as above
you should have increased voltage 13.8 - 15.5 volts
when it was tested it was fine but it was fluctuating so it stopped working/lost voltage once it got up to speed
I guess it could have a bad diode in the alternator. Good luck with replacing the alt.
one of a kind 1969 Ferrari Daytona was sold at auction over the weekend. It had been sitting in a barn in Japan since 1980.
