I would guess they would play Monday and then the loser would play in the WC game.
Dirt is wondering about the location - it'll probably be in New York due to season head to head record.
TiebreakersNo, I'm actually wondering
So they play that game?
WC the next day?
ALDS next day?
Do they re-adjust the schedule?

Tiebreakers
Within the Division: If there is a tie at the conclusion of the regular MLB season for any of the divisional or wild-card positions, a one-game playoff will be held the day after the season to determine the team that advances. If there is a tie for a division and the losing team is assured of winning a wild card, there is no one-game playoff. The team that won the season series between the two is named the division champion.
No. They don't change the schedule.
10/1 - last game regular season
10/2 - tie-breaker
10/3 - Wild Card Game
10/5 - ALDS Game 1
They could, in theory, play four teams in four different cities in five days.

I think that is the old scenario, before the second wild card was added. See the following from MLB.com. It's dated last year, but I don't think anything has changed. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

How to determine playoff tiebreakers

If one game is needed to break a tie for a playoff berth between two teams, it will be played on the Monday after the scheduled end to the regular season, hosted by the team that won the season series against the other. That applies to determining a division championship whether or not the losing team would still qualify as a Wild Card.

So there we are. Back to potentially four games, vs four different opponents in four different cities across five days. Brutal.
